The wind reading on the 100m was +1.4 which with the +2.0 in the 110H and the +2.4 in the LJ means it squeezed under the +2.0 average.

This is good as I have mixed feelings as to whether there should be any rules about wind assistance in combined events as regards total scores being ‘windy’. If the wind is consistently strong throughout the two days, it will be a hindrance in the 400m and 1500m and, almost certainly, at least one field event. Then again, it can be helpful in some field events where wind readings are not taken!
