Hurdler selected for both his specialist individual event and the 4x400m relay squad where he will be joined by Nigel Levine who has been added to the GB team
Jack Green is to join Niall Flannery in contesting the 400m hurdles for Great Britain at the IAAF World Championships, while Nigel Levine has been added to the team for the 4x400m relay after the two athletes made successful appeals to British Athletics.
Green had originally been named for just the relay as although he had the hurdles standard he had not raced since June 6 through injury.
Levine had been omitted but now features on the relay squad along with Green, Jarryd Dunn, Martyn Rooney, Conrad Williams, Delano Williams and Rabah Yousif.
“I am pleased my appeal to be included in the individual event was successful,” said Green. “I’m now looking forward to putting on the GB vest once again and just want to focus on producing the best possible performance I can.”
Rooney is another athlete to have successfully appealed and on Monday the national governing body announced how the European champion would be contesting the 400m as well as form part of the 4x400m squad in Beijing.
Meanwhile, athletes such as Andy Vernon and Lennie Waite will not be among the British athletes competing in China after their respective appeals for the 10,000m and 3000m steeplechase were unsuccessful.
