Wilson Kipsang and Daniel Wanjiru added to fields for The Vitality Big Half in London next month

Mo Farah’s rivals in The Vitality Big Half on March 10 will include two former Virgin Money London Marathon champions – Wilson Kipsang and Daniel Wanjiru.

Kipsang won the London Marathon in 2012 and 2014 and is also a former marathon world record-holder, while Wanjiru won in London in 2017.

Farah won The Vitality Big Half last year (pictured above) by out-sprinting Wanjiru in 61:40 and will be looking for another win in the build-up to the London Marathon on April 28.

The Vitality Big Half once again will double up as the British Half-Marathon Championships and a strong domestic field includes Andy Vernon, Dewi Griffiths, Jonny Mellor, Josh Griffiths and Matt Sharp.

The women’s race sees all three of last year’s podium finishers returning. Charlotte Purdue was last year’s winner, running 70:29 in cold conditions, while runner-up Lily Partridge and third-placed Charlotte Arter are also back. In addition, Steph Twell will be making her debut in the event, plus Tracy Barlow, Gemma Steel and Sonia Samuels.

Eight-time London Marathon champion David Weir leads the entries in the men’s wheelchair race while Shelly Woods will be aiming for victory in the women’s wheelchair race.
