Season’s best in 60m hurdles and big PB in the shot for world heptathlon champ
World heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis stepped up another gear this indoor season as she significantly improved her UK-leading mark in the 60m hurdles and set a big PB in the shot.
Competing at the Loughborough Open, the UK 60m hurdles record-holder reduced her season’s best to 8.03, having opened her indoor campaign with 8.15 last weekend in Sheffield. Former UK record-holder Sarah Claxton won race two in 8.21.
Ennis’s next hurdles race will be in Glasgow next weekend against world indoor champion Lolo Jones, who opened her season last weekend with a time of 8.10.

She also competed in the long jump, but struggled to find her mark on the board and leapt a modest 6.16m. She will he hoping to improve on this next weekend in Glasgow.
