Round-up of the winners at a wet ERRA National Young Athletes Road Relays
South of England clubs emerged victorious in five out of the six team races at the ERRA National Young Athletes Road Relays which were staged in uncharacteristically wet conditions in Sutton Park on Sunday, writes Tom McCook.
The exception came in the women’s under-17 race which was the penultimate race of the championship, when Lincoln Wellington AC, who celebrated their centenary in 2011, made history by winning their first ever National Relays title.
Herne Hill Harriers began the day with victory in the girls under-13 event. The Tooting Bec club completed a historic double victory by also winning the girls under-15 relay.
Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers, who are no strangers to being crowned national champions, added two more titles to their battle honours with victories in both the men’s under-17 and the boys under-13 relays.
Tonbridge AC ran out the winners of the boys under-15 relay after winning the 2012 under-13 title.
