You presume right! Which makes finalising an ES team hard work...!

They'll get the call today - think it's officially published tomorrow though - or late today - to give the Euros a bit of press

Fair enough but David not Being in 100 explain that also no Leon Reid (10.65) or Abigail Smith (10.75) but Hannah Thomas in relay squad?

Having won the 100 at the U20 Champs which would pretty much mean a place was there if he wanted it, I assume David Bolarinwa and his coach have opted for the 200 instead.

Leon Reid's next fastest time this year is 10.78. At the U20 Champs he was DQ'd in the 100 semi and went out in the heats of the 200 (PB 21.53).

Of those selected only for the relay:

Emmanuel Stephens - 10.60 (faster than Reid)
Edmond Amaning 21.13 200 (v consistent)
Tom Holligan 21.31 200 (&10.55w 100)
Jordan Kirby-Polidore 21.19 200

I think all those three 200 specialists have a stronger case than Reid for selection.

As Abi Smith does not turn 16 until next year she is ineligible under IAAF rules. She also has not run in the UK this year.

There are 1 or 2 girls that look like they have a better case for selection than Hannah Thomas. My guess is that she has been a regular part of the training squad and they value that experience above what is proably a very small difference in foot speed.

ok calm down lol :D

once again fair enough but what about the 4x400 men team? I Know none of them ran a sub 47s but they all ran the iaaf 400 standards and surley that is enough for a 4x400 relay team?

On the other note its a shame there's no;
Clovis Asong 400
George Caddick 400
Jake Porter 100h
Nick Miller HM
Hayley McLean 400h
Yasmin Miller 100h
Kirsten McAslan 400
Camellia Hayes HJ
Lucy Bryan PV

All of them just narrowly missing out

And Nick Miller is selected for the hammer. It was Callum Brown who missed out.

I feel really sorry for Hayley McLean. She ran 58.2x at the England U20 Champs only to be disqualified. Plus she had a 58.57 from earlier in the season (standard is 58.50).

Kirsten McAslan ran a brilliant anchor leg at the Euros last year so I'm a bit surprised that she hasn't gone quicker this year. The 4x400m teams could've definitely made top 8 so it's a shame they weren't selected.

Don't really do "stressy" (I think most of my friends would say I'm easy going). But I certainly do "know all that likes to answer questions"

And Katie Byers in the PV. Only Parnov and Bengtsson have gone higher than her this year of all the entrants plus she may be able to go higher than the 4.35m she did in Bedford earlier in the 'Summer'. I certainly hope so and wish her the best of luck.

As for James, well, he's a class act and justifiably a favourite. I hope he does himself and his family proud.
