You presume right! Which makes finalising an ES team hard work...!

Fair enough but David not Being in 100 explain that also no Leon Reid (10.65) or Abigail Smith (10.75) but Hannah Thomas in relay squad?

Having won the 100 at the U20 Champs which would pretty much mean a place was there if he wanted it, I assume David Bolarinwa and his coach have opted for the 200 instead.
Leon Reid's next fastest time this year is 10.78. At the U20 Champs he was DQ'd in the 100 semi and went out in the heats of the 200 (PB 21.53).
Of those selected only for the relay:
Emmanuel Stephens - 10.60 (faster than Reid)
Edmond Amaning 21.13 200 (v consistent)
Tom Holligan 21.31 200 (&10.55w 100)
Jordan Kirby-Polidore 21.19 200
I think all those three 200 specialists have a stronger case than Reid for selection.
As Abi Smith does not turn 16 until next year she is ineligible under IAAF rules. She also has not run in the UK this year.
There are 1 or 2 girls that look like they have a better case for selection than Hannah Thomas. My guess is that she has been a regular part of the training squad and they value that experience above what is proably a very small difference in foot speed.

And Katie Byers in the PV. Only Parnov and Bengtsson have gone higher than her this year of all the entrants plus she may be able to go higher than the 4.35m she did in Bedford earlier in the 'Summer'. I certainly hope so and wish her the best of luck.
As for James, well, he's a class act and justifiably a favourite. I hope he does himself and his family proud.
