Doha Provisional Entry Lists - Samsung Diamond League

http://www.iaaf.org/competitions/dlm/ne ... 64826.html

Rooney, Osagie, Rimmer, Rutherford, Tomlinson, Oni, Emma Jackson, Perri, Goldie etc. Should be good viewing and interesting from a British perspective.

That 'etc' means Stephanie Twell in the 3000m, Kate Dennison and Sally Peake.

The men's 800 and women's 3000 fields are stacked...

I've been trying to keep up to date with DL announcements via it's own thread until such times as the official start list is produced.

It's nice to see that UKA have at last released the shackles from the athletes and allowed them to get premium competition in the build up to the "Big Show"

I think this meet was possibly in Okoye's plans but perhaps needs a period at home after being in California for the past 5 weeks or so. He may well be throwing in Rome.

I know its not an actual Diamond League event tonight, but I presume the BBC will not be showing the Mens 3k, which is absolutely loaded, as it is after their schedule end of coverage...gutted..

Hope Chris Tomlinson isn't injured. He has an r against his first jump and hasn't taken his second. Assume the r stands for retired?

Perri 400h 3rd in 55.25 - Olympic A - started well - hurdling not so hot as the race went on.
Good start to the season.
Melaine Walker 54.63 WL won well.

Men's 200 m - Walter Dix wins in 20.02.
Mookie Salaam (who ran 9.98 for the 100 earlier this year) looks like he's pulled a hamstring.

Men 100 m - Gatlin 9.87 beats Powell 9.88.

Emma Jackson 1.59.37 Olympic A - despite being far too far back at the bell.

Just got in and switched on. Heard there was a fast m100m but don't know the results.

That's great from Emma Jackson!

Andy Osagie 1:44.64 PB, Michael Rimmer 1:44.86! (I think)

1:43.10 WL for Rudisha, given a good race by his compatriot Kinyor.

Felix beats VCB in the 100m! There's a turn-up.

plus Rimmer 1:44.86. I think you have to go back to the early 90s for the last time 2 Brits broke 1:45 in the same race?

Yep - Rimmer's time confirmed. This is a pretty good night :D

I was trying to remember the last time we had two Brits sub 1:45 in a season.

It really is fantastic to see so many Brits hit the standards in the early races with just 9 weeks to go. :D

Is Tomlinson actually there? Louise Hazel was tweeting pictures of him warm weather training in Portugal yesterday, so I doubt it.

Great to see all these A standards. Solid start from PSD but I wish she'd run though the line...

I thought Emma Jackson paced her race really sensibly. She knocked half a second off her PB -you can't complain about that.

Possibly 1993 when Martin Steele ran 1:43.84 and Curtis Robb 1:44.92 (in different races a month apart)

Wow, 2 men sub 3:30 in the m1500m after no one breaking 3:30 at all last year! Kiprop must be kicking himself but I think Kiplagat knocked him.

I thought that was a PB from Emma Jackson but wasn't sure by how much. Knocking off half a second in your first serious race is brilliant.
