Great to see Asha in such form, and to have some real competition for Jodie - it can only be a good thing for all concerned

That's really good from Asha Phillip. I looked up her indoor PB which previously was 7.35 dating from 2007! She also ran her 100m pb of 11.37 that year as well. Obviously wintering well if she's running like that in her first meeting of the year.

Great to see Asha finally getting over the injuries and starting to show her potential. We potentially have so much talent in the womens 100 to make it very competitive.

The 60 could see three or four below 7.20 this season.

Thought it was publicised Helen Clitheroe was due to run but don't see her on the list...though I guess there are still 3 weeks until the event and no doubt there will be many changes etc to the lists from they currently stand!

Also for the UK Trials I see Hannah England has accepted to run in the 3k....though this may have been publicised elsewhere.....Gemma Steel is also due to run the 3k...

Joe Thomas and a few other British guys were running in Vienna tonight so it'll be interesting to see how they got on. I know Guy Learmonth ran 1:49.52, despite some dodgy pacemaking.

Another PB for Joe Thomas. That's some improvement from Lewis Moses. Two seconds faster than his previous indoor PB and over a second faster than his overall PB of 3:42.6ht.

Contrary to what is written on Tweeterland , part of Athleticstargate site , Joe Thomas was second in Vienna last night ,beaten by an athlete called Rapatz who ran 1.47.24 just beating Thomas.Just for the record.

Joe still ran a PB of 1:47.28 though. On twitter, Joe is saying that he did win the race

But looking at the results site isn't that just a complete ranking list of all the times from all the heats/races in each distance, with in the right hand colum the position in whichever race they took part in?? So although Rapatz was indeed faster on time in ran in a different race to Thomas?

That's how I read it too. Shame Joe wasn't in the first race, as it seems to have been generally quicker, so might have pushed him to a faster time, too

Yeah, I see on the results that Joe was in heat 2. Heat 1 might've had better pacemaking, according to Joe the pacemaker in his heat was too slow and kept zigzagging across the track to stop Joe passing him too early! There's definitely a 1:46 time to come this indoor season

One notable performance from Vienna which doesn't seem to have been mentioned was Nadine Okyere who has made some steady improvements over the 400m the last couple of years and her run of 53.43secs was the best in the UK this year and a good indoor marker.

She could be the surprise package in the 400m, I reckon she could run a 51.3 - 51.5 come the summer which to me puts her in contention for a relay spot!

I saw she'd had a new PB. I'd love her to get over 17.50 this season. It's been so long since we had anyone qualify for a champs and it would be good to have someone in London.
