She has posted on her twitter account that she is struggling to be fit to compete this season. Can only assume from that she has struggled again with injuries through winter and pre season.

Sadly, I think a few people saw this coming. A real shame, but not unexpected, given our recent track record :(

As you are probably aware I have been struggling with a few problems since March 2010 which have made my training intermittent.

Over the last couple of months I have made some significant changes to my setup and things are progressing really well.  Sometimes the road back to full competitive fitness can be gradual but I am aiming to be ready for the indoors.  My coach and I have had the 400m in mind for a while, and both the 200m and the 400m will hopefully feature next year.

Best wishes

Emily

That would be good news indeed, but I'm not getting carried away just yet.
Mump posted similar news about Vernicha James a while back...and to my knowledge that has come to nothing. Unless anyone knows different.......?

Mump was happy that she was giving the 400m a go, something we've all been advocating for years.

Emily's situation is nothing like Vernicha who has been out of the sport for nearly a decade now.

Top in the world as an Under 20 beating the likes of Felix and Sanya Richards - surely Vernicha had more potential.....
Does anyone have any info on her?
Who was coaching her at this time?

I think Ayo Falola may have been her coach.

Falola who was James's coach and who now, apparently, looks after Junior Ejegu, said in the Guardian earlier this year, that James, like many before her, lacked the right approach and mental toughness , despite her enormous talent; he reckons that Jodie Williams is a different kettle of fish with both the talent, mental ability, intelligence and single mindedness to get to the top, hopefully.

Lets hope it happens for JW.
