Always considered Beijing medal haul a one off and many there in 2008 escaped the febrile pressures here at home.

I reckoned a year ago, and still do, that we will get a maximum of 14 Golds and round about 30/35 medals.

Clear already that many British Olmpians have not been able to handle the pressures, especially our women swimmers who are way down on reasonable expectations based on the 2012 ranking lists... Gandy, Miley,etc and nearly all of our swimmers are underperforming , with one glorious exception.. Jamieson, smashing asunder the Brit record and and improving onto a different level. Thats what wins medals.

Never thought for one minute that GB would equal their amazing Being haul, with 12 cycling medals!!.

BBC have received a string of complaints AND have acted on them! Alas they haven't got rid of Mindy but have you noticed that since yesterday Phil Jones is not touchy feely anymore?

He's had a lot of support on twitter for him being touchy feely, but he does seem to have been told to back off, given his tone in thanking people for their support

That he's too touchy feely - he put his hand on someone's shoulder and hugged Goldie

There was a wider complaint about all the BBC Media Zone people - either being too harsh or being too nice (Sharron Davies at the swimming) and John Inverdale (at the sailing) also got criticism. Clare Balding was the only one who got praised

He put his hand on either Bolt or Blake's shoulder (possibly both), and I remember thinking that he/they looked really uncomfortable with it.
