Bullut

2012 4:01.18 London (OS) 08/08/2012
2011 4:18.23 Izmir 09/07/2011

3000 Metres Steeplechase
2012 9:34.88 izmir 19/05/2012
2011 10:13.73 Istanbul 05/06/2011
2010 10:56.4 Izmir 29/06/2010

I'd love to know how to chip 17 seconds off my personal best in a year!
Jessica Judd could be the world holder next year if she learns her secret.

Utter SHITE!

I'm afraid to say I hold out little hope of Lisa medalling tomorrow....maybe in a few months time!
This womens 1500 makes me feel very sad for our sport. Everyone knows its not being played out on a level playing field, but we have to put up with commentators telling us about 'great' performances from certain athletes.
I very much doubt whether a clean athlete will medal.

Sad about the likely druggies in the midst of the w1500. The drug catchers are catching the druggies from 2004 now so the catching improves - so perhaps will a 4th placer in London have to wait a few years to learn they have after all a medal. Lisa looked 'calm' in the sf race for me, so let us have a bit of hope to hand.

Dunno.

Think Lisa has looked good in both heat and semi , seems to be peaking at exactly the right time. We know these championship finals are often affected by falls and even top runners mess up their tactics...I think it is fairly open and if she can be in the right place at the right time I give Lisa a decent chance of a medal.

Be worth finishing in the first four or five anyway - would still have a chance of inheriting down the track when the testers catch up

I think we're all missing the biggest factor of all - Lisa learnt tactics :D :D

She looks calm because she isn't right at the back, boxed on the inside with 200m to go. If she runs a smart a race as she did in the heats and semis (and she only ran a 4.13 in the heats, so is fairly fresh), she has a real chance

Let's not forget, law of averages (read: Team Manager!) says at least one Turkish girl will suddenly become too injured to start/finish the race...

Let's just hope it's not a one-off and she won't be stuck somewhere at the back and on the inside when the break comes in the final a la Beijing!

I don't think the final will be particularly quick. Tomashova will probably toe them along like she did in the SF at a reasonable pace. Not sure Jamal is in the shape to employ the tactics she used to use. Aregawi and Cakir will probably battle it out on the last lap ahead of Bulut  et al. I'd love to see Dobriskey win a medal though but I can see her finishing fifth or sixth.

BTW didn't realise Ms. semi-final Lucia Klocova has been given a place in the final.

If I were in charge of WADA I'd be testing them all every day anyway.

The worst thing is: 4th was Tomashova. So if there are any 'changes', she medals

Lisa got her tactics so right in the semi - WTF :?

'With the fall i found myself in the wrong place'

Really ? because from where i was looking you were already in the wrong place

If it was up to me she would get absolutely no more funding unless she decides to actually listen to advice and run a race in a way that makes any sense at all. It almost like she has some kind of secret dare the run the worst tactics possible. dithering at the back, on the inside getting boxed and running into the back of people. Even when gaps open she completely ignores them.

:x

Alas , Lisa left her new-found tactical skills in the semi ...if she'd been in front of that fall who knows ...

And then the "dream" result

Come on relay boys , cheer me up ...

Eh, fcking damn right. AT least those druggies had the DECENCY to run fast fcking races and actually be on the circuit more than a week before their victories. Cakir is bad enough but Bullut. Hilarious. The state of our sport.

I also don;t buy the women's 4x1 record, there is something mega fishy about that time......

Lovely winners tonight with Lysenko, Cakir, and Jeter.

Thank heavens for Meseret Defar. LOVE HER!

I'm 99% sure she clipped Morgan, surprised no one on T&F news has copped it. It's an epic fact

Whilst i find most post race interviews cringeworthy it does at least give you some insight into the mental attitude of athletes and too a degree what sort of character the athlete is.I am no sports psychologist but dear old lisa , lovable lisa is just so highly strung and appears not at all strong mentally.Whilst you can denounce her tactics as stupid what it really says is she just isnt confident enough at this level and her ability to get boxed or run on the inside is just her way of showing how she feels about it all - basically she is a bag of nerves and doesnt think she can do well. She was allegedly flying in portugal but if your heads not right forget it .Her coach must be in despair - its not baddeley is it ?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Doesn't it just make you want to vomit

"I'll probably get into trouble for saying this but I don't believe I'm competing on a level playing field' - Lisa being interviewed on 5live.

Looking back the writing was probably on the wall before she lined up, twice she came off the track and said she was 'terrified' out there. I'm sure all the athletes are nervous to some degree but is that the mentality of a champion? She's far too timid and negative when running, never takes the bull by the horns, always loitering at the back/on the inside, almost as if she's trying to fade in to the background. So disappointing :(

For what it's worth I once said to Iain Stewart that Lisa wasn't confident and he laughed. Apparently confidence isn't an issue !!
