Hardee is chugging along OK but faces the big test of his elbow later today. Clay was doing pretty well until a very slow 400m - he may expect to pass Hardee with his strong discus and javelin, but his 1500m has never been fast and age won't help him in that.

Apparently Clay had to stand on his starting line for 12 minutes before doing his 400. The suggestion is that he will get over 8200 but my money is for Hardee to finish ahead of him, unless Hardee's elbow lets him down in the PV and JT
