Moscow 2013

Postby Egymon » Tue Jul 31, 2012 5:32 pm

Hello,

I tried desperately to get tickets to the Olympics but like many I was disappointed.

I have now decided that I would like to get tickets for WC Moscow 2013. However, I can not find any information on how to obtain tickets once they go on sale.

I have tried to contact IAAF, UK Athletics and various Russian organisations but to no avail.

Does anyone have any idea how to obtain tickets for this event and when they go on sale?

Any help is appreciated! :D

From what I've read, the ticket prices will be revealed during July/August. Obviously, July finishes today so that must mean August then! Therefore, tickets cannot be on sale yet. They are expected to be reasonably priced as it is a 75000 seat stadium.

For the last 3 major champs I've been to, you could but tickets for the whole week for around the same amount as 1 top priced evening session in London.

The main thing you'll have problems with in Moscow is the visa!

Thanks guys!

I read that the Visa regulations will be relaxed for people visiting the Championships, although I could have misread and I suppose this might just be for athletes!

Any info on where to buy the tickets?

If you want to guarantee good tickets best to get them from Track and Field Tours http://www.trackandfield.co.uk/ they can also sort out travel and accommodation

If you want to do it independently and probably a bit cheaper you should be able to get tickets from the website www.rusathletics.com or they should be a specific website for the Champs at a later date

You could also email the Russian Athletics Federation to find out more

rus@mf.iaaf.org

I wouldn't worry too much i think it very unlikely it will be sold out there is plenty of time to get tickets :D

I just contacted Track and Field Tours and they said Moscow Ticket Prices should be out end of August. They have sent me their pre-registration programmes for both Moscow and for the Indoors in Gothenborg. They already have rooms booked

They can also process Russian Visas on your behalf - hope this helps!

Just make sure you have the Visa! Last time I went I applied 2 months in advance and still found myself at the Russian Embassy in London a day before I was due to fly paying someone to get it processed in time!
