Paula Radcliffe will be forced to make the heartbreaking decision this week to withdraw from the London Olympics.

Radcliffe has been struggling for fitness since a degenerative foot injury flared up again three weeks ago. But now, according to sources close to both the athlete’s camp and to UK Athletics, her battle is over. ‘The time to make a decision has arrived and there’s only one decision to make,’ said the source. ‘Paula is not fit to run at the moment. There will be an announcement in the next day or two.’
