If I'm not mistaken, that's the longest women's SP since 2000.

Can i just say re Ennis , that i read she was doing one more Lj and a Jav after the trials. whilst i think that is wise, i also think a HJ wouldn't go a miss. Conditions were poor at Birmingham but she never looked like doing 1.92.

She has to nail at least 1.89 and hopefully get 1.92 in London. I still maintain the HJ has played as much a contributionto her losses in Deagu and istanbul as the Jav and LJ did respectively.

I am sure team ennis know what they are doing though> she looks inamazing shape.

Lawrence Clarke ran a windy 13.14 in the heats in Madrid. He was then disappointed with his 13.24 (+2.4) in the final.

Okoro 52.67 in 400m in Heusden - not bad, but not enough to make a convincing case for a relay place ahead of LMcC, NS or SC (although NS was 0.02 behind her).

Marilyn then acted as pacemaker (55.48 at 400) for Pamela Jelimo, who ran WL 1:56.76.

PSD 55.58 in her 400mh.

Jelimo really has come back to form.

Semenya has been quiet of late, wonder what we can expect from her come London?

Outdoors, yes, but Ostapchuk herself had a 21.70 indoors back in 2010.

Warburton was down to run in Sotteville tonight, but as far as I can see he didn't,
and Manzano won the 800 in 1:46.79.

Is he running in London grand prix - am guessing now he's in the team he saw no point in going...

Right.

Bleasdale vs Izzy is another point of interest at Sotteville tonight.

No news yet AFAIK.

Oh please

Watch her drop a metre once she gets to London.

I have no idea why she competes so seldom outside of Belorussia do you :?

Always a pleasing sight when Val gives her a good pasting at the champs.

Scotland look like having a good 4x400m in Glasgow:
McConnell
Child
Nicol (U23)
McAslan (U20)
Sharp should be able to go faster

Steve has just confirmed in his own tweet. Been waiting a while for this. Onwards and, er.... upwards!!

Haven't seen the official results from Stettin (Can't spell the Polish name), but yep, Steve Lewis has confirmed it on Twitter. :D

I'm really happy for him. He's been very close to 5.80 on a couple of occasions this year, indoors and out so it's not a surprise. Onwards and upwards indeed! Third UK record from Pfaff-coached athletes so far this year ... ;) We know after Helsinki what it's going to take to win medals (5.90+ by the looks of things), but to have someone in the final of a technical event is great.

Steve Hooker jumped 5.72 as well in the same comp, which is his best jump for a while. I hope he's getting his mojo back.
