News, reports and results from the UK and the rest of the world
Jenny Meadows has a torn Achilles and was running on it for two months before it was diagnosed. She may not be fit in time for the Olympics:http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-spo ... ont-807766
So much for UKA's wonderful medical service... What a pity. Let's hope she gets there somehow.

That article says she's only the 38th person ever to be diagnosed with it, so perhaps not too surprising it wasn't picked up.
It seems the rest of her is in great shape, so let's hope she can get back to her best. That said, domestic competition is going to be tough enough as it is this year, so it's a big ask

I hope she overcomes this injury but time is really short and she has to fend off domestic competition in about 2 months time. Whereas Brownlee can compensate by concentrating more on cycling and swimming it is more difficult for Jenny as she only has running, and running at a fast race pace at that. Jenny also has less time.
It can just about be done if there are no setbacks plus there is a possibility less stress on the body through alternative training may be of some good.
Best of luck.

Yes, best of luck.
If anyone can do it, she can.
