Gainesville meeting, 21 April

Postby trevorp » Sat Apr 21, 2012 7:08 pm

Today's Tom Jones Classic could be worth keeping an eye on: quite a few Brits on the start lists, including Jade johnson LJ, Abiodun Oyepitan, Jeanette Kwakye and a certain Joice Maduaka(!) in the sprints; also VCB's season's debut over 200m.

Good jumping by Jade hope she can get back to her 6.80 best by the summer.

Martyn Bernard opened with 2.20 but more promising was he had a couple attempts at 2.31!

JJJ windy 7.96 and legal 7.93m in the long jump. Good start would be great to see him jumping with greg and chris come London!

Porter ran 12.47 wind 3m/s in the finals! Storming!!! Think she will give Pearson a run for her money.

Can't be right, I am sure that the Daily Mail said she was only running for GB because she would never be good enough to run for the US.

If TP had'nt lost her rhythm she may well have medalled in last years worlds.
As I've said elsewhere , I think she may do something really special this year.
Will have her work cut out to beat Pearson , though.

Really interested to see Joanna Hayes and Michelle Perry run windy 12.7's. I was sure Hayes had retired. The last major she was at was Helsinki 05.

Interesting to see Ryan Braithwaite return to form too with a legal 13.29.
