JJimbo I think it is a combination of both, and them some! Some forums would beg to differ with what I am about to say, but the hardcore on this forum were aware early last year (via read it in the news) that UKA and FastTrack were parting company.

I think that this was the biggest game changer (closely followed by cuts to funding) to more of our athletes competing abroad. It was this partnership that was the bedrock of the organising of the Euro Meet promoters forming a group that blocked DC from competing on the European circuit. I remember the TV pictures of De Vos and Ridgin in deep discussion as DC won the UK indoors.

Baddeley "lacking tactically" says a poster. Very demeaning attack on a fine athlete :)

There is a massive difference. One is an opinion where there can be only opinion. The other, ie saying they aren't capable of running a time is an opinion where there is fact to say that that opinion is not valid.

Let's not go down that path again - he's obviously just trying to wind you up, so don't rise to it

Sorry Jeremy, it's not often that I agree with Biggut, but on this particular subject I do. I have often felt Baddeley stays at the back for far too long and hopes his speed will get him to the front in the home straight. It is a tactic that is flawed.

But I never said, as the point I was making, that certain athletes were not capable of specific times. My point, gloriously ignored by BG, was that times and even distances are beneficially advanced especially at higher location levels and last year more or less proved it.

More or less? Less then, as I showed earlier the 3 examples you cited for the 200m did nothing to show that CDf was dodgy. But you ignored the facts and just focus on the times. Is Kilty a 20.50 runner with a positive wind and running an event that is not a club league match? Is it fair to say that using an athlete who's only other 200m was the heats of the trials, a race he won, is not really proof that the CDF time was unreasonable, especially when the athelte was 0.01 behind his 100m CDF time in a race in Birmingham? Is it evidence that a time is dodgy when the ahtelte concerned ran a similar time 3 times the previous season? Why are you ignoring this?

David Bishop and Tom Farrell are running in Oslo tonight in the National 1500m; Baddeley is not competing in the Dream Mile.

w1500m was not appetising to watch. Selsouli was banned in 2009 for 2 years for EPO; Cakir Alpetkin was out for 2 years 2004-06.

I was about to say the same thing trevorp. To compound it, they broke their PBs by 4 sec and 6 sec! Absolutely sickening. Glad to see Dehiba trailing in last however. Promising run by Dobriskey.

I agree - it's so depressing to see convicted drug cheats back and performing better than ever. At least Chambers and Myerscough have the decency to be totally mediocre.

Great leap forward by Lisa Dobriskey - looks like she could get into sub-4:00 shape at the Olympics.

That last 200m by Gebremeskel to win the 5,000 was absolutely incredible. Mo will really have his work cut out beating him.

Jess doesn't want to be captain

I'm glad you enjoyed the 1500 like a true track fan

Dob(not so) risky as a selectee. But whatever one thinks of the small army of sub 4 girls they are there so she has still some distance to go.

What a timely boost for Dai. Brilliant.
I am feeling very uneasy for Lisa and co., looking at the womens 1500 result. What a travesty it would be if Lisa and Hannah round into form only to be thrashed by a couple of girls with their own special help, (maybe).
I cant find it in me to applaud their sub 4's.

100% agree, is it really a good advertisment for athletics to have 2 dopers blitzing the field like that, there's shades of Ayhan with this sudden improvement from Cakir, absolutely disgraceful! Let's hope they go they way of Alminova when she produced a similar performance a few years back. Russian champs won by Kostetskaya in 3.59.28 with Martynova & Tomashova (!) all sub 4 and Soboleva a shade outside. Certainly looks a hot event this year :?
