Almost always a mistake to come to conclusions based on one race. Did he not run 9.82 only three weeks ago?

BTW this ticket photo appeared on Twitter the other day from someone apparently ecstatic to be going to the 100m final. Category AA £725, Block 134 - back straight, 9 rows back. Not a great position except for watching the triple jump.

No boyson the buy one and get ten free refers

And only £750 to watch the men's 100m final. I was thinking that for the amount we've paid for this they could have sold all the tickets to genuine athletics fans for say a maximum of £50 for a finals night. They easily found a few billion when they needed to so an extra million or so is chicken feed and it rewards the grassroots of the sport. That would have help with any so called legacy.

Yeah, I had to pay thru my nose to finally get tickets for the final relays day on Saturday August 11....

£250 a pop, I think it was...I've blanked it from my mind, and told myself over and over again that it was worth it!

The LOCOG people were happy to sell 300,000 tickets to Thomas Cook to enable them to get the money in quick and so TC could make an absurd profit on their packages.. The tickets would have been taken up easily by fans to the various sports outside of sponsorship and the delicious irony is that TC are now desperately off loading about 30% of their packages at a heck of a lot less than the obscene money for "packages" they wanted at the start of the ticket farce.

TC are still offering tickets to finals of all track events plus hotels and all the transport /food trimmings. You need a few bob though, like £899 for one night of finals for all the track events, plus stay in 4/5 star hotels for one night, plus food and privileged transport to and from the Olympic Park. Wonder how many takers .

There appear to be loads of good value tickets on sale now - e.g. 110m finals, £50, men 1500m finals, £50.

Get 'em quick!

LOCOG had quite a major batch of tickets to sell yesterday. Tickets for most Athletics sessions, Track Cycling, Swimming, Opening Ceremony, the lot. Typically most of the cheaper categories go very quickly and you are left frustrated chasing 'ghost' tickets which have already sold. Some of the expensive categories AA and As are still available. Dertour the German seller had an influx of tickets on Wednesday. Typically the foreign sellers are discounting the leftover expensive package deals and clearing stocks.

As the LOCOG resale process continues there will be further opportunities to get Athletics tickets. It's pot luck, with apparently no pattern as to when they are released onto the website.

Athletics is close to a complete sellout, judged by what I have seen on LOCOG, and the French, German, Dutch, USA, Danish and Spanish sellers websites.
