I hope the athletics isn't decimated too much by withdrawals because I've always enjoyed the Commonwealths enormously. Ironically it remains the only major Champs I've never been to.I hope to put that right in the future but it wont be next year. At least the swimming promises to be very competitiv...

Can someone please explain how,in the Olympics Soccer competition England Ireland,Scotland and Wales can have their own individual teams,yet in all the rest of the sports ie Athletics,Sailing,cycling,swimming,etc the competitors are all representing the UK.
