Clearly you are not up to date with developments in the Salazar camp either.

Re: drugs

I think Salazar's behaviour was unacceptable, but is no more than I would expect from him. However that is not what I was refering to. Have you not read the developing situation re Matt Centrowitz ? I also believe that another athlete might be implicated, but that is pure rumour. The Centowitz situa...

Re: drugs

Larkim - you said "Of course, you can believe what you want about AS and his methods / morals / style. Unless proven otherwise, either from disclosures within the NOP or adverse testing, personally I'll continue to believe that he (and his elite athletes) are clean." What are your reaction...

Re: Are GB Athletes living up to potential ?

There are so many ill informed opinions being expressed here, I feel the need to respond. 'Mick Woods is not an S+C expert.' No he isnt, and I dont think he has ever claimed to be. However he isnt stupid, and if you think he doesnt know the relevance of S+C you are being very insulting. He has had, ...

Re: MAHON TO LEAVE ENDURANCE POST

Its 2 months since the last post on this thread, and since then we have had the appointment of Salazar as a consultant to BA. Still no replacement for Mahon or Nuttall - although rumours abound. If they are to be believed then we still wont have a UK coach in charge of endurance - another PR exercis...

Re: Salazar to be UKA consultant on endurance

'Unless there are legitimate concerns about Salazar with real foundation' What do you need ? Coached an athlete who failed a test, supported her through the process ? Endorsed Balco products. Admits he explores the grey area. Has publicly stated that it is impossible to finish in the top positions (...

Re: Salazar to be UKA consultant on endurance

Evidence - 'he instigated the S+C programme'. No, thats what Salazar said, thats not evidence. I know he changed the S+C programme but the evidence against it is that Mo's previous programme was set by Mark Rowland - and if you ask the people who worked in the gym with Mo and Mark at St Marys they w...

Re: Salazar to be UKA consultant on endurance

Guilty by association ? If an athlete you coaches fails a test, then what more do you need to know ? If I was asked to suggest the 3 best people for the role of UK Head of Endurance then I know that 2 of those people would not have any dealings with Salazar, which is why they wont get the job. Does ...

Re: Salazar to be UKA consultant on endurance

Unethical - if you coach an athlete who fails a test then there is more than a doubt. There are posters on US sites who have written that Salazar used the same doctors, when running, that they did - and they have admitted to using ped's. Salazar wrote that it was impossible to challenge the best in ...

Re: Salazar to be UKA consultant on endurance

The use (I am not sure the term employment is correct) of Salazar was inevitable once BA switched from adidas to nike. I doubt very much that he is being paid directly from the UK, but that is largely irrelevant. There are a couple of issues that are far more important. The first thing I want to kno...

Re: Salazar to be UKA consultant on endurance

Another thread on a similar subject reminds that Thompson's coach - Mark Rowland - set Mo's S+C programme. No way was it deficient. Interesting sub-plot though.

Re: Coe interviews Salazar and Farah

I think the situation regarding this interview, and previous others on the same subject, are quite interesting. Not for the comments themselves but because of the reasons behind them. Firstly Mo has been on Lottery Funding for some years and part of that package is that all aspects of the athletes p...

Re: IAAF qualifying standards

If UKA could make the selection policy so complicated with just A + B standards to play around with, just imagine what they might be able to put together now ! At least the worst culprit of selection complication has now left and taken his skills to another contiinent.

Re: MAHON TO LEAVE ENDURANCE POST

UK endurance running is at a cross roads following the departure of both Terrance Mahon and John Nuttall. This would seem an ideal opportunity to address the failures within the current structure but the delay in any announcement suggests that British Athletics will continue along their recent uncon...

Re: Positive tests

Jeremy. I am sorry that you dont believe that everything I have suggested is true. I think I can show that all of the points I raised are factual. A simple google search will confirm a number but let me take your last point re the inhaler. During a recent visit to St Marys (where Mo often trains whe...

Re: Positive tests

Please correct me if I am wrong but part of the reason for doubt may be - Other athletes from Salazar's club (...

Re: ian stewart goes

"Of course he was, he didn't come up with it all by himself did he ?" Do you really think that you can send a married man from Teddington a) with a young family b) who is under contract to adidas , to train in a nike camp in Oregon ? You can suggest, encourage, try to bully etc - but not s...

Re: Moscow 2013 selection policy

Australia had some public spats with athletes re selection recently and preumably have taken steps to prevent any repeat. We have two new men at the head of the sport with no experience at setting qualifying procedures for this group of athletes. Neil Black will have 'sat in' on selection meets (as ...

Endurance

At the 2012 Games we had 10 athletes in the 5k/10k and marathon - some doubled up. Of those 10 only 2 had British coaches based at home, Merrien (slightly fortunate to be picked ?) and Jo Pavey. This is a list of UK athletes going to the US to train next year, and join a significant number of Brits ...

Re: 6 Medals - Success or Failure?

Stewart would just not allow it - end of. If anybody suggested that Storey was still coaching Mo then they were told they were wrong. UKA kept naming Simms as his coach despite everyone being aware it wasnt true. Storey wasnt allowed accreditation to Barcelona, drove Mo there from Ft Romeu, then wen...

Re: 6 Medals - Success or Failure?

TheRealsub10 I think you are tring to gloss over what was a sad episode of UKA involvement re Mo. Ricky Simms had to pretend that he was coaching Mo as UKA would not allow Storey to be named as his coach. Yes IS was involved in the connection with Salazar, but out of spite as much as anything else. ...
