Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year

Yes, but I can't see someone who has "just" won a bronze medal making the final 10 when there's dozens of gold medallists (+ those from non-Olympic sports) for the sports editors to choose from (assuming they're doing it the same way the have for the last few years)

Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year

And if Lewis Hamilton or Jenson Button win the F1 Championship (unlikely but not inconcievable) they would have to be among the nominees. Rory McIlroy has probably done enough already to make the list, but a successful Ryder Cup may push him up a little further too. Latest odds from Ladbrokes (other...

Re: Paralympics

And why would throwing a club be any less respectable or challenging than throwing say a Javelin? Just because we're used to the current 4 types of throwing implements used for decades, why not something else (e.g. 56lb weight which was once a popular event)

Re: Wiggins

Where have you seen the start order for the Time Trial? All I have found is the start list (where as you say Cancellara is 36 of 39, but that is merely sorted in alphabetical order of NOC.

Re: Who should light the Olympic flame?

There are six living British Olympians with 3 or more gold medals

Ben Ainslie
Chris Hoy
Richard Meade
Matthew Pinsent
Steve Redgrave
Bradley Wiggins

I'd like to see these six as the final 6 torchbearers

Re: Maz Okoro to be added to the women's 800m

I agree with most that the selection process was flawed, but I would have not selected Okoro for the 800m. I would have gone with Jackson/Simpson/Meadows, and only if either Jackson or Meadows had not been able to prove their fitness would have then gone with Okoro.
