Re: Maz Okoro to be added to the women's 800m

Do not get me wrong, I agree. But how is any of this, supposed to have a positive impact on her performance? Anyway aside from that, she has the B standard and won a medal at 'a weakened European Championships', but there were A standard athletes who didn't medal in similarly similarly weakened Even...

Re: UK Women's 800m

I agree... and she has been in a similar situation before ...Euro Osaka maybe? when Lyne was selected and she was left out?! and realistically her chances this year would have meant doing something similar?

Love Jenny and the really 'sportsmanship' quality she has!

Re: Maz Okoro to be added to the women's 800m

In what way is there not negativity or anger being thrust towards her.... there is a page started to get people to petition against the decision on this website. I will quote some posts on this site.... ''Lynsey tries the same tactics as the Euros in the Olympic heats but the girls are faster and do...

Re: UK Women's 800m

I reckon the injury was much more serious than publicised. Her flight aggrivated it. come on...

I do like her classy response though.... very dignified

Re: Maz Okoro to be added to the women's 800m

!No one has said anything that bad about her, but there is a 21 year old girl in Edinburgh right now, who has been thrust in to the debate and has done nothing wrong at all. However, the anger and negativity that is being directed towards her (perhaps indirectly) is shocking... there are drug cheats...

Re: Maz Okoro to be added to the women's 800m

My god... we are arguing about which 'also ran' deserved selection ... WAKE UP.... they are there to make up numbers in this event .... Lynsey may also be a has ran but she has the best claim in that she has proved best as a championship performer (other than the crocked Jenny). This is not a case o...

Re: GB London Olympic Team

I suppose so. I agree with you that there would not have been such controversy should she be the third selected. But following your logic, what is the point in having heats and semis, why isn't the Olympics about just a race off with the top 8/12 fastest people of the year? Why send Dwain et al, whe...

Re: GB London Olympic Team

sorry. I did not mean to imply that people had been horrid towards her, but I can not see why everyone is not excited that we have a successor to the middle distance girls (sorry I would include Emma Jackson if she was fit, and my heart goes out to her misfortune). I know it was a weaker year, but L...

Re: GB London Olympic Team

I think it is pretty naive/ comical the responses to Lynsey being selected. So Lynsey might not get through round 1, but she has the best results of all girls going into the Olympics..... she has beaten them all in their last races.... BUT... the world has moved on in the last 2 years .... no Brits ...

Re: Helsinki 2012 European Athletics Championships

I agree.[l

I think the team should be cox/mcconnell, Childs, tbo, psd. McConnell is nowhere near her best but seems fitter than Sanders. Cox is faster, but Lee has 10 years experience in relay and anchoring, and I would suggest a better strategist and chaser.

Lead off is the big issue.

Re: Helsinki 2012 European Athletics Championships

So from the individual event reports... Cox 52.4. Sanders 51.5. McConnell 51.4 and Childs 50.8.
Chillds on the 2012 team surely. Is Cox the new Christine.... She cost us the medal as well as the weird lee to Eilidh handover.

Re: UK Women's 800m

So it's the first post I have made, despite reading other posts for a while. I think that Lynsey should get the shot to run in the Olympics, despite not 'having the A'! She has completely embarrassed Maz and Jemma and is the only female medalist at the Euro's at the moment. Jenny has fantastic pedig...
