Re: URGENT: NEW FORUM COMING SOON - PLEASE READ

Maybe it's just me then. All other websites are fine and tried my other laptop and was just the same on there...slow and forum pages taking forever to load. Fine on the news section of the site, just when I access the forum

Re: URGENT: NEW FORUM COMING SOON - PLEASE READ

Has the website been slow for anyone else these past few weeks? Slow to the point of me almost not bothering to look at it, pages take so long to load? All other sites are fine so not my laptop/internet as far as I'm aware?

Re: SHOULD KJT GIVE UP MULTIEVENTS FOR THE JUMPS

Enormous potential at the Heptathlon. Hopefully the hurdles will improve, her jumps are great and no problem with the 200 & 800m. Seems to have a big time temperament too. It's just those throws isn't it? They could be the difference between gold medals at major champs and missing out. If she ca...

Re: Rutherford and sledging ;-)

Too much talk from Greg for me. If he wants to turn his hand to the relays or winter sports then get on and do it but can't help feeling he's saying anything to get his name in the media. He struggles to stay fit for his own event let alone anything else. I'm sure Greg saw pound signs the moment he ...

Re: Athletes post-pregnancy

Speaking of Bulgarian's, didn't Kostadinova have a baby shortly before winning the Worlds in 1995 & Olympics in 1996?

Re: Athletes post-pregnancy

A few Russian's had children. Samolenko, Masterkova, Lebedeva & Zaripova, who is pregnant again. Astrid Kumbernuss, Jo Pavey, Derartu Tulu, Jana Pittman In tennis Kim Clijsters was very successful after having her daughter. I think Jess can come back, but will the desire be the same with a young...

Re: Funding 2014 - who is in/out?

Goldie's PB will always put her in with a shout of a medal and I'm not disagreeing about her being funded but what is her 'strong case' for inclusion, and if it's so strong then why wasn't she on it in the first place? Is it the fact she threw a PB just prior to being injured in London? It's not her...

Re: Funding 2014 - who is in/out?

Lisa is not an over rated athlete. She was a whisker away from being World Champ, Commonwealth Champ, and was robbed of medals at the Euro's and the Olympics by drug cheats. Her P.B of 3.59.50 is world class, second only to Kelly Holmes amongst British athletes and 2+ seconds faster than Hannah Engl...

Re: Turkey

I see Yanit has been banned for 2 years.

What are they dithering about with Cakir's case for? Don't want to hand the medal to Bulut, only to have to take it off her in due course? She ran away with the 5k at the Euro U23's but then nowhere to be seen in Moscow

Re: IAAF World Championships 2013 (Day 9)

Deserve to be DQ'd there I'm afraid, not least for Dwain's hat. We'd be the first ones putting in a protest in that situation. Remember Endacott shouting and bawling to put in a protest to get Sally Pearson DQ'd in Delhi whilst still being interviewed

Re: BBC Athletics Presenters

Couldn't believe the discussion about sending both Greg and Chris. Ok so MJ might not be as up to speed about our selection policies but Denise and Gabby should know, Paula was the only one to say 'they can't send both can they?' but even she didn't have the courage of her convictions. It's not that...

Re: IAAF World Champs (Day 6)

What a shocker from Perri, but good run from Eilidh. Fantastic run from Jenny Simpson, never in a bad place at any point in the race, not intimidated by Aregawi and gave her a real run for her money, got the elbows out when Obiri tried passing her, and still strong in the home straight. Our runners ...

Re: BBC Athletics Presenters

They're way too over staffed now when it comes to pundits. No need for CJ, MJ, Denise & Paula all flitting in and out. The morning sessions with Jonathan, Denise & Colin guffawing at one another are cringe worthy, as are the interviews with Phil Jones. Are we sure Colin has a contract with t...

Re: Greg In Tomlinson Out

Like it or not, when you're the World or Olympic champion you're going to get special treatment when it comes to selection, what did CVC once say (about Paula if I recall) 'performance brings privilege'. Despite all Greg's bleating over the past year about not getting his due rewards, he's been give...

Re: Ennis return

Such a shame for her. A world title there for the taking :( I also wouldn't be surprised to see Nana Djimou come into contention with her huge javelin. Speaking of which, I fear the throws will be the undoing of KJT. I saw a bit of her Javelin at the U23's and it's Sotherton-esque in technique. Real...

Re: Ennis return

I hope Jess gives it a go, Chernova was probably the only one capable of exploiting a below par Ennis. She only ran 12.93 & 12.94 in the hurdles in Berlin and Daegu so she's not a million miles away from that. We're in the dark about the HJ but she was outside 23 seconds in the 200m at the last ...

Re: BBC Athletics Presenters

Who exactly is Colin popular with? Fans of Strictly Come Dancing maybe but certainly not anyone who watches athletics. Have you read Twitter when athletics is on? It's not just people on here who moan about him, it's the casual viewer and I've lost count of the fellow athletes who take the mickey, h...

Was this the last time Stuart Storey commentated on a major champs? He's worked for the BBC for years but only seems to pop up now on the red button occasionally. Not his finest moment behind the microphone!

Re: BRITISH ATHLETICS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TEAM

Despite holding the ‘A’ standard, UK Athletics said as there was not an official trial event for the discipline it had to be referred back to the performance director to reconsider. “Upon reconsideration it was concluded that if last week’s Sainsbury’s British Championships 5km walk in which he set ...

Re: No other country has this many!

What ever happened to Becky Lynne? and Emily Freeman? I always forget just how special Becky Lyne was - didn't she go under 1:59 three times in 2006? World class in her 'breakthrough' year, then nothing... And finished 3rd to Kotlyarova & Klyuka at the European's too  Klyuka was a chea...

Re: BRITISH ATHLETICS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TEAM

Clearly they want to give Greg the chance to be fit, but if they can extend the deadline for the LJ, why not give others the chance? Paula was suggesting Chris Thompson was going for a fast time in Monaco, will he also be added if he gets it? Seems like they make the rules up as they go along. All t...

Jade Lally has said that the reason for not being selected is that she's unlikely to make the top 8. Almost certainly true, but gives others little incentive to improve in one of our weakest events.
