This is not a BBC decision not to show the WIC, but rather an IAAF decision to work with a new agency for the sales of the TV Rights in Europe and Africa, namely IEC in Sports. The 2009 World Championships were the final event in a very long and successful arrangement with another agency, where the ...

Jeremy As usual you know not of what you speak, and your continued speculation does not help anyone in this case. I do not know who UKA are lining up for the Heavy Throws Coach, but I think that the applications closed about a week ago, so I would imagine it would take some time to complete any inte...

The issue here is that Sanya is not happy with her Agent/Manager and she is completely entitled to do that. She can change from one agent one seasn to another the next season, which is what the IAAF supports. This is pretty standard practice in most high level sports (and entertainment), as you woul...

Has anyone considered why CVC has taken this post, considering it is very much a demotion from his placing as the Head of the the Netherlands Olympic Assoc. (NOL/NOC).....? Malcolm, you have worked for the Dutch Bobsled Fed in the past, and I am sure if you have contact with them, they will tell yo...

A small but quite relevent point is that Charles Van Commonee 'took over' Denise Lewis (a move closely associated with SP) when she was already world class, having been coached from a youngster by Darrell Bunn, who incidently coached Julie Holman for many years. He is one of UK's most brilliant coa...

Geoff, I agree that Charles is likeable and knows his stuff, but I wonder how UKA, given recent events such as the Chambers saga, could contemplate such an appointment given Charles' continued association with Dr Ekkart Arbeit? Wouldn't this cast a shadow over the build up to 2012 before it's even ...

The Olympic/World Champs A standards in the Track events is aimed at getting 64 athetes entered for the Championships, or 8 heats of 8 athletes. These standards are set at least 2 years in advance, so there is quite some guesswork and estimation of trends going on, in order to get to these numbers. ...
