Re: Day 9

Well I don't know about you lot but I thoroughly enjoyed tonight's action as I've enjoyed the whole programme... Last day highlight : can I be forgiven for getting more excited over Mo Farah winning Gold in that fantastic last lap battle than even the Jamaican relay world record? Really not fussed o...

Re: Day 9

Decent finish for Webb - must have picked up a few places there finishing in 2.15 something ...

Re: Day 7

Sanders may well be the "weakest link" at present. But since there is nobody else on the team likely to run faster if substituted for her there doesn't seem much point in worrying about it. Just hope she runs better tomorrow...

Re: Day 7

Terrific javelin competition ! Surprise winner but she earned it with that re-taking of the lead ... shame about Sayers having a complete disaster - I didn't see any of her throws but I gather I didn't miss much :)
Jav hasn't been kind to GB in Daegu has it :(

Re: Day 7

Disappointing. First heat of three , getting in the first two is important. Did Jenny just not have it today , or did she decide to accept the risk rather than give everything to ensure qualification? Colour me surprised. :( Semenya looked impressive. I'm sorry , but I'm not happy watching her. Can'...

Re: Day 7

Think Jenny is in trouble now - that 2nd race has put her down to 2nd best loser :(

Re: Day 6

A lot more smiles here tonight :D Absolutely Dai-lighted for Greene - great test of nerve with all that messing around at the start and he handled it wonderfully and won (as I always thought he would but didn't want to hex him with an outright prediction :) ) Was never going to be super fast after t...

Re: Day four

Teacher is right about the fringe athletes - CVC wanted a lot of finalists and so far he hasn't had too many. But in fairness one or two of the younger ones have come very close to qualifying (PSD missed by .01 for example) and the fact is a lot who might normally have been expected to reach finals ...

Re: Day four

Brilliant run from Zaripova :D

Kenyans won't be pleased - they think that race is their property - but she ran them off their legs.

Re: Day four

Nice to see Jess gave it everything in the 800 - got a PB , tried to runs the legs off Chernova , brave but no serious chance of course. Had she been say 30 points down no doubt she'd have run more tactically. Congratulations to her for the silver. And of course to Chernova for deservedly winning - ...
