Re: Sport Films

The recently released "Salute" film should be unreal. Check that out, though more of a documentary and back story regarding the aftermath of the Mexico games for Peter Norman. Actual sport films? Senna, Mean Machine, The Longest Yard(either one), Prefontaine, any Rocky(cliche). Though not ...

Re: Olympic Kit

I love it. New, radical and designed by a top British designer who obviously knows fashion. If she didn't she kinda wouldn't have the job she has. May not be to everyones taste but someone name me something ANYTHING that is to EVERYONE'S taste. Its not possible. I have also noticed that the majority...

Re: OLY Gold: tough and easy?

I wouldn't count 2003 in the same era as Bolt, Gay or Blake.

Or did you mean global medal?

Re: SPOTY

Biggest problem with this award is this. The winner dropped out of the biggest race of the year and then won the world title. This is the equivalent of Mo dropping out of the 10k after 20 laps and winning the 5k.This of course, didn't happen. But I lay down my salary and say if Cavendish hadn't won ...

Re: Who should light the Olympic flame?

As long as its not Beckham I'll be glad to see a robot light the flame! In fact, I'd love to see Sir Chris Hoy but as I've already said, Daley Thompson/Steve Redgrave are THE choices to think about whoever is choosing it. Anyone else shouldn't be considered. Tom Daley - Not done enough yet Rebecca A...

Re: Commonwealth Youth Games

Elliot Safo grabbed a silver in the LJ with a windy 7.41m from Aussie Angus Goulds 7.52m who with a pb of 7.04m improved that mark 6 times no less bit not once with a legal wind! In fact of the 42 jumps there were only 9 legal wind speeds and 3 no jumps. Youngsters showing the adults that wind not n...

Strong winds all day means most times are invalid though its the positions that matter. Kiwi Dalton Coppins has set th...

Re: The ups and downs of the Worlds and British spritning

USA pump more money into their athletes than China make from tea production. They also get results across the board & consistently some random appears that has been on the public radar for maybe a year prior to a major champs & cause a massive upset. Russia have their wide strength across ma...

Re: Jamaica 4x100m

As good a job as Frater & Carter did, there is no better anchor leg runner in the world than Asafa Powell. Frater/Carter - Blake - Bolt - Powell = 36.xx - As long as Bolt sorts his feet out & can run the bend again. If not, switch him with Blake. Mullings can sod off. Lee isn't quick enough ...

Re: Phillips' landing - can it be improved?

Been saying this for years. When his legs hit that high point they just seem to go straight down again. If he could learn to just leave them there he'd have been over 18m 2years ago.

Re: Day 8

The fact is, TBO will run fast splits if the people around her run fast. So what happened in Daegu? 3 girls running 50.5 or less and she "pulls out" a 52.0?? My reasoning behind Meadows/Child may be flawed but just typing 'The fact is' before stating a theory which has only just been disp...

Re: Day 8

You're kidding right?? CO is a liability in relays and this cements that fact. If anyone is on the plane due to past form its her. Sanders ran a fantastic race as did McConnell and the split times show it. I don't care how much ground she lost, she was still almost 1.5 secs faster which tells the ta...

Re: Channel 4 World ChampsCoverage

I for one am glad this is on C4 whoever presents it. If the athletes were electronic devices then Deley would have been all over them. Dalton Grant. WR Entry Height HJ (Athens, 97).

Dalton Grant or "Towers"
One of our jumping powers.
Whilst others jumped he put on the kettle*.
Somehow he still didn't get a medal!

Re: Day 1

I've seen it in a 400mH race, but that was years ago when it wasn't instant DQ.

CO should know better and have done better. Downhill ever since Beijing. Not good enough from someone who has won as many high end titles as she has.

Yes Flumpy, valid if all teams did not run PED cheats. Bet Gatlin runs in the 4x100 ! I don't care what other teams do. Of course Gatlin will be in the USA team but that's no reason for us to sink to their level. Sink to their level nothing. Under our own rules and bylaws he has served his punishme...

Once again a joke that DC isn't in the relay. The only guy capable of running sub10 at a major & we leave him out to "keep one eye on 2012" How many think Devonish & Malcolm are dead certs for 2012? I'd love it if they were - Malcolm is running faster this year than in many previou...
