Re: IAAF World Championships (Day 7)

Those guys just don't learn do they? They did try something a little different... sorta, but yet again they passed the buck between themselves, not willing to take out the pace into a true run race and eventually the inevitable happened. Mo Farah has now cemented himself as one of the greatest dist...

Re: IAAF World Championships (Day 7)

I think it was a mistake to drop Jamie Bowie, Bingham is not in form. It was a mistake. They thought that Bowie had done his bit yesterday but wouldn't be able to reproduce his fine run today... so go with the runner who has shown absolutely NO form at all this year instead and let him run the slow...

Re: IAAF World Championships (Day 7)

WHAT HAPPENED TO FELIX! :( SAFP does the double, Ahoure with another silver and Bleasing gets the sprint medal they deserve :) If Felix is out......the Russian and Jamaican women must fancy their chances in the relay. Jamaicans?? I'm guessing Eldanielfire was taking about the 4x100m relay, rather t...

Re: IAAF World Championships (Day 7)

Well Well Well..... Great race from SAFP, fully deserving of the gold. More medals for African countries at a major champs (at last!), a double silver for Ahoure and Okagbare gets a bronze after underperforming in the 100m. However disaster for Felix with that hamstring injury on the bend.... Now th...

Re: IAAF World Champs (Day 6)

Well ultimately today was one of frustration for the British team as the main medal chance Perri Shakes-Drayton, ranked 2nd in the world in her event, effectively flopped in the final. Whether it was an injury niggle that led to the clipped hurdles, a loss of rhythm, and then pushing too hard round ...

Re: Can Perri Win 400m Hurdles Gold?

Well... That couldn't have gone worse could it? I think hitting that third hurdle just as she was getting into the race, completely threw Perri's rhythm, and after that she was done for. This is going to be tough for her to get through, because Perri knows she's just thrown away a sure medal there. ...

Re: IAAF WORLD CHAMPS 2013 (Day 4)

Could Elish break the British record here? She's running really well so far. And I have no idea who's going to win the steeplechase, though Chemos is looking good. Great win for Chemos for the win, and a gutsy bronze from Assefa after falling. Credit to Elish for running well for 10th place with all...

Re: IAAF WORLD CHAMPS 2013 (Day 4)

And Solomon does what his coach was famous for... tieing up badly in the final 75m during a major championship 800m. Great run from Aman to take the gold. Unlucky for Symmonds, but he did well to take the silver as did Souleman for the bronze. And praise too for Osagie for the 5th place finish in an...

Re: IAAF WORLD CHAMPS 2013 (Day 4)

PSD through. Demus looks dangerous again! Hmm... We'll see in regards to Demus. It is sorta ominous that she's set consecutive season's bests in the rounds here in Moscow, but I have a feeling that perhaps that semi final run might be the maximum she's capable of doing right now. Congrats to PSD fo...

Re: Women's 400m - TBO's timing

Great race, so pleased Christine won, you could see how much it meant to her! Also a word for Krivoshapka - an excellent run from the outside and clearly thrilled with her bronze. Indeed, Krivoshapka finally ran a good championships since 2009. She really powered down the home straight to take her ...

Re: IAAF World Champs 2013 (Day 1)

Haven't any of Farah's principal rivals learned anything from the Olympics last year? This race is almost following the exact same pattern as the 10,000! Why aren't they pushing the pace more? What are they waiting for? Not that I mind of course, it's just playing into Farah's hands, but you have to...

Re: IAAF World Champs 2013 (Day 1)

I said this a few weeks ago here and I will reiterate it now... The woman's 400m final will be one of the most competitive races at these championships. All the principal players are running well, in particular Ohuruogu and Montsho, and barring any major mishaps in the semis, this final will be a cl...

Good run from Rhyzova there, 50.69 and looking pretty strong.

Hello.... That was mighty, mighty impressive from Christine. 50.20 without breaking a sweat or even upping the gears that much.

Oi, Kathy Cook. I'd be perhaps thinking your 400m national record could be under a bit of threat here. We'll see. ;)
