Re: GB Medals at European Indoors

For those who are interested GB are 6/4 for the female relay and 7/4 for the male relay on Ladbrokes. The Russian women's team are 1/2 for the title! Surely an oversight here, a team of Child, PSD, Adeoye and Ohuruogu should beat the strongest Russian team. I'd make GB just under evens. What?!?? Ru...

Re: British Athletics European Trials and UK Champs 9-10th F

99% sure Marylin could have finished that race. A couple of athletes passed her so she just decided to stop, Leonard and Tarplee were just simply better than her. Looked unlike any hamstring injury I've ever seen. Maybe someone can explain? Quite a few positives though. Bleasdale, Child and the youn...

Re: Men's 4x400m

Jehue Gordon has said that he won't be running tonight and their team will be the same as the heats.

Gives GB a chance.

Re: M 400m

Alternative teams just for Steve - Santos, Sanchez, Culson, James K. Borlee, Greene, Green, J.Borlee Joking aside, I think you're right about Williams dropping out for Greene if he doesn't improve his performance in the semis. We won't win a medal with a guy in 46s form so we may as well take the ga...

Re: M 400m

USA 4x400 will still have enough even without Meritt. Angelo Taylor, Wariner and Clement are extremely good guys that come in and help their individual guys. Kinda wish we could have a team Americas and team Europe to help out Bahamas and Belgium. Haha! Would be some race though. USA v Maslak, Roone...

Re: W Hep

It would be very unlikely for Ennis to not win Gold from here. So we should be confident! If Ennis performs under par in the next two events - 6.40m in the long jump and 45.00m in the javelin then Chernova would have to performly at her absolute best (which we haven't seen much evidence of so far) a...

Re: Olympic Betting

Spotted another couple of good prices. Germany 40/1 to finish top 3 in Men's 4x100 Holland 25/1 to finish top 3 in men's 4x100 The top 3 in this event should be nailed on but we know the relays are very unpredictable. These 2 will be looking for a medal if there is a dropped baton. GB are 7/2! Price...

Re: One down.......Positive tests!

I wouldn't read anything into it. The original tweeter posts a number of unsubstantiated rumours. The original tweet was also 4 days ago, I'm sure if there was anything in it we would know? Meanwhile St Kitts 100m and 200m athlete Tameka Williams has been sent home due to doping issues. http://www.w...

Re: Olympic Betting

Possibly the best VALUE of the British competitors now would be.... Ohuorugu....7.6 (Betfair) Shakes-Drayton....6.4 (Betfair) I think Mo, Dai , Jess, Robbie and Greg are a bit too short in odds to back, even though they may well win. Grabarz is fair value at 6.0 (Betfair) I dont think any of the ab...

Re: Talbot should have been selected for the 200m

deffo should have taken talbot hope he does run around 20.3 by the end of the year.....Luke Fagan also ran 20.65 into -2.5 at cork this evening should get down to around 20.3/4 aswell by the end of the year That's a great run on those conditions, worth under 20.5 for sure. Talbot, Bolarinwa, Tobais...

Re: Talbot should have been selected for the 200m

Agree - terrible decision considering McConnell was in exactly the same position; 3rd in the trials, 1 A standard from last year, good perfomance at the Euro's and already going to London as part of the relay team. But also improving!

Re: Luzern meeting, 17 July

he should be in the relay team though. Not even a question - he has to be in. Second only to Gemili on the rankings Malcolm/Talbot - Dasaolu - Gemili - Chambers possibly? In another thread I went for Malcolm-Dasaolu-Talbot-Gemili, explanation on other thread... I like that team too but I'd just be ...

Re: Luzern meeting, 17 July

Agree with the above relay. It's a young team too which is great, aside from Christian, obv. Really like Ryan Wilson. Wish he could tidy his technique and find consistency. I seriously thought he was coming through to win us trials until he hit the seventh. Shame to see someone as talented as him, ...

Had anyone heard of this 21 year old Jason Young before this meet? 10.06 in the 100m B race and 19.86 in the 200m. Unreal depth of talent Jamaica have.

Re: Luzern meeting, 17 July

The results have changed again! Something clearly wrong, as I just rewound the recording and Dasaolu finishes 6th IMO, just ahead of 7th and a long way ahead of the Swiss guy in lane 8 - but that's not what they've got! Yeah they've got the Swiss guy finishing with 10.11! Pretty sure he trailed in ...

Re: Olympic Betting

Unfortunalty Okoye has come into 20/1 and Rutherford 4/1. I also see that Christine is down to 7/1 now!

I would say Okoye still looks good value 20/1. And afterTomlinson showing decent form yesterday 20/1 looks good too. Can't see past Mitchell Watt but you never know!

Re: Olympic Betting

William Hill have Goldie Sayers at 66/1 to win gold and 12/1 to win a medal; these are ridiculous odds even before today! To put in in perspective they have both the Women's 4x100 team and Nicola Sanders at at 8/1 to win a medal. I reckon Sayers should be around 20/1 and 3/1 for a medal. CO looks no...

Can't get over how impressed I am. Like folk have said he completely has the right head on his shoulders and seems a really determined lad. Like a male Jess Ennis!

Re: Maz Okoro to be added to the women's 800m

Doesn't see the need to go down and is concentrating on training. What a hilarious comment I'm only repeating what she said herself. Of course it would be nice for her to go to CP and compete with the best but according to her she needs to focus on this block of training before the biggest week of ...

Re: Maz Okoro to be added to the women's 800m

I see where you are coming from Flumpy and a decision to choose 3 athletes over 1 would obviously almost always be the correct one. However, in this case you would be choosing - a very out of form Jemma Simpson who has only managed a best of 2:00.97 this season. a recently injured Emma Jackson who s...
