Re: TURKISH DELIGHT

The issue is NOT how talented Koch was... who the f cares ... The statement that anybody makes " I don't care how many PED's she guzzled".... is appalling, especially from a poster who loves pointing out the foolishness of cheating athletes. You've done well to take that comment so far ou...

Re: Relay Teams

Isn't it ironic? British people for once not wanting to utilise/exploit overseas (particularly Caribbean) talent? We all have an opinion on British colonialism, but is that what this is about? The world goes in cycles, it was a time of empires, lets not kid ourselves, had Jamaica been the power they...

Re: Goteborg 2013 Day 3

Had always wondered why Soumaré hadn't been much faster than 7.1s in the 60m. She has a brilliant start and endurance. Long overdue. Annoyed watching Naimova though, horrible feeling she will get a medal.

Re: Goteborg 2013 Day 3

Hjelmer stormed out in the semi finals and the tired for my money. I don't think anyone who goes out in 23.5 would risk easing off because if they start to come around you in a close race (like it was) you are simply not going to be able to reply. My worry is that Hjelmer will take them out in aroun...

Re: Goteborg 2013 Day 2

Perri Shakes-Drayton looked supreme, as did Hejnova. To be fair to Shana 52.86 from lane 1 is not too bad at all. I'd rather them run Adeoye but Shana wouldn't really be an issue.

Re: GB Medals at European Indoors

I have no problem with any of that but then you add in a load of long shots but leave out Shara who actually has a record at major champs :? You obviously don't see it, as Proctor is something of a decent athlete, but not much better. It is my measured opinion. She may well medal, but I just don't ...

Re: GB Medals at European Indoors

Predictions!

Gold - Women 4x400m, Men 4x400m, Perri Shakes Drayton.
Silver - Holly Bleasdale, Robbie Grabarz.
Bronze - Jennifer Meadows, Michael Rimmer, Eilidh Child, Asha Philip.

9 medals total.

I think we will also have top 5's in the men's 60m, 60mh, 400m and women's Long Jump.

Re: Oscar Pistorius

Re: Women's 4x100

Another interesting one, Poland. 2010 European bronze medal winners in a time of 42.68, a national record. Their team was... Marika Popowicz - 11.42 SB (11.38 PB 2009) Daria Korczynska - 11.22 PB (2008) No time for 2010 over either sprint distance that I can find. Marta Jeschke - 11.33 PB (2011) 23....

"right with them if not better" :( :( The Ukrainians ran 42.04 for their Bronze in London and contain better sprinters than exist in the womens 100 m in this country.Povh, Ryemyen etc The British record is 42.43 set in Moscow in....1980, 32 years old, and those sprinters were far better t...

Re: Women's 4x100

Our women are bronze medal contenders if they learn how to exchange the baton, they obviously need the support to do that but the potential is there. Ukraine are world, European and Olympic medallists and I think a team of Kwakye-Williams-Oyepitan-Philip in any order is right with them if not better...

Re: Relay Times: Serious Issue

I can offer one factor: have you ever been on that track? I was lucky enough to run on it and ran a 400m split 1.4 seconds faster than anything else I have ever managed before or since. . Then the track is bullshit and none of the records should stand. By "Fast" track you mean "diffe...

Re: W Hep

Why is everbody being so negative? Chernova has been miles from her best all year long and Skujyte just does not have the talent as her 200m and 800m are REALLY poor and her long jump is 6.30s at best. I still call Ennis the favourite from here. Is she still ahead of her Gotzis score? I am sure she ...

Re: W Hep

Skujyte will be in contention after three events then will drop away. Nana Djimou Ida could be one to watch. PB hurdles good high jump and has a 55m javelin. Jess could well open up a lead on Fountain by the end of the day as she has a full 1m on here in the shot and has a better 200m. She has to be...

Re: AW Official London 2012 thread

TBF 'unticketed' does normally mean free entry. While doing my English A-level recently I would have to learn the definition of words and as far as I can remember unticketed means that tickets have/will not be issued....That does not mean the event is free, just that their are no tickets to be purc...

Re: Allyson Felix - London

I think she's silly to go for the 100 m first. This might hopefully give Bryzhina, Fedoriva or VCB a chance in the 200. But Kersee might just coach her to gold . Bryzhina? Fedoriva??? You think they'll be in 22.0 shape? That would make me vomit to be honest. Allyson uses the 100m as a sharpener. Sh...

Re: Women's 4x100m shock of the games?
