Re: Gotzis

Katarina is hitting 6.60+ consistently now, we saw that during the Indoor season, and in Gotzis. I suspect if she gets into a DL standard meet, with a favourable wind she will not be far off 7m this year. Room for improvement in all her results from Gotzis, too. Very encouraging.

is there any where online to see the 800 and/or what time will it run?????

Also, John Lane is doing well....

Bryant is on for a good score, too - Last time I saw I think the predictor had Bryant on for 8174 or something like that... Had Lane on for 8000+ too.

Re: Gotzis

Katarina needs 2.06.96 for a 6700pts score, I think that would hand her the win, too. She needs to be .25 of a second ahead of Theisen-Eaton as they cross the line. Lake needs 2.27 to score 6000pts. I am nervous.

Re: Gotzis

Foul for KJT in the final round... She looked gutted apparently, Simon Hart said it was around 7m and the very tiniest of a foul. Hard lines, eh?

Re: Gotzis

Top as far as the AT list shows is JJK with 22.30 in her WR in 1988, 7215. Frankly, I have always had the greatest scepticism about those ridiculous JJK scores, especially at the height of the drug taking period, her outstanding talent notwithstanding.. The Americans were cheating as strongly as th...

Re: Gotzis

KJT 22.89!!!! Schippers 22.35! Crazy! Great for Kat but Schippers   This has been a long time coming for Schippers. 22.69 In 2011 as an 19yo, no improvement since so she was due this drop. What does she do now? She could be really push the 22sec barrier if she dropped the heptathlon.....

Re: Gotzis

KJT doesn't need a big SP as long as her javelin is over 45 m and she gets a HJ around 188-192 as there's so much more in her 200, LJ , 100 h and 800 to come relative to Moscow 2013 I'm sorry but I disagree. 12m just isn't far enough when mixing with the very best. Kluft, Ennis, Sotherton, Barber, ...

Re: World Junior Championships

Can someone clear something up for me? A couple of years ago there was a young lad in the papers having run 100m 'faster than Bolt' at that age. I can't for the life me remember their name. (I'm usually pretty good at remembering names) I want to say it's Tom Somers, but not sure. Whoever it was, I...

Re: IAAF World Relays

Very Impressed with Asha Philip in the final. The Jamaican's and American's didn't eat into her lead at all, if anything she had a better lead-off than Russell. Jodie Williams is not a third leg runner, I'd like to have her running the back-stretch, but I don't know how reliable her baton exchanges ...

Loads of Brits competing stateside over the next few days - especially keen to see some of these results http://www.gatorzone.com/trackfield/tour/jonesmemorial/2014/heats.pdf I noticed the name Issajenko on the start lists. Surely that is the daughter of Angella Taylor-Issajenko? Interesting, I'll ...

Re: Zharnel Hughes

While most countries fought for Independence in the '60s, Anguillan people rebelled against the associated state formed between themselves and St Kitts & Nevis in favour of staying with Britain. Having been to Guyana, I received an extremely warm welcome and people were quite excited to hear I w...

Re: Melissa Breen

Great run - Both Breen and Pearson took advantage of perfect conditions. Warm, blue skies, strong gusty tailwinds all afternoon that luckily just stayed legal for her 11.11. Hard to see her reproducing this at sea-level with less perfect conditions, but when these days come you have to take them.

Re: drugs

Re: drugs

I am more worried about what is happening in Jamaica and Kenya myself. Huge lack of out-of-competition tests. Even the USA one could argue, are not doing enough. It just makes it appear like a systematic cover up from the top down, and It would be no surprise if we found out certain national agencie...

Re: Indoor season 2013/14

I haven't seen these results posted anywhere online, but they are reported on the European Athletics site, can anybody confirm the following. Sophie Papps - 7.27 at Southern Champs? If accurate, that is a hugely impressive improvement, given her height and the fact that she is usually not too explos...

Re: GB Female Sprinters & Relay

I would be disappointed to see Annabelle Lewis lose her third leg spot in the team - She ran well at the Anniversary games and she was Superb in Moscow, great third leg runner. Dina-Nelson-Lewis would be my first three legs. Fastest of Philip & Williams get anchor. Anyika is a fair bit older tha...

Re: What's next for Christine Ohuruogu?

Absolutely a legend of British Athletics. She is not running in a weak era either... Montsho has become a prolific sub 50seconds athlete, Sanya Richards-Ross is (I think) the most prolific sub 50seconds runner of all-time. Also - The standard in the women's 400m is skewed due to the affect doping ha...

Re: Public Warning for Veronica Campbell-Brown

As Shivfan said this makes the foreign press look stupid. But it also makes Jada look stupid and incompetent (once again). They need to publish a report detailing their findings and reasoning regarding this case, otherwise I'm afraid people will just become increasingly suspicious of their conduct. ...

Re: Adam Gemili

British sprinting has lots of potential for the future. World Junior Champions over both 100 and 200 for the men. Two British juniors running 20.6 over 200 this year. And the Women's side is arguably even better led by Dina Asher-Smith and also Jodie Williams and Desiree Henry. Obviously potential ...

Re: Is Isinbaeva devoid of integrity of character?

Sounds like a 93 year old man who has never left russia, not a 31 year old modern women who has travelled the world. She is going to regret that she ever said that. I doubt it. There are only around a dozen countries that are even fine with gay marriage, including Australia and half of Europe. In B...

Re: Women's 4x400m

Frankly I think people are being a tad optimistic about a couple of the British splits and we will not see a UK record here. Now watch me crash and burn as they run 3:19! What makes you say that? Speaking purely for my prediction... Surely 51.2 is withing range for Eilidh? 51.6 at Penn... 51.4 indo...

Re: Women's 4x400m

I'm Imagining something like... Child (51.2) - Onuora/Cox (50.4) - Shakes Drayton (49.3) - Ohuruogu (49.0) = 3.19.90 Now of the other top nations... USA McCorory (50.2) - Felix (49.0) - Atkins (50.1) - Hastings (49.6) = 3.18.90 *If they run Spencer on 3rd I can't see past a split between 50.3-50.5.....

Re: Absolutely shameful! JADCO (Jamaica) tests 106 for 2012

The issues is not population but participation!

Iceland have extremely few athlete yet have performed more tests then Jamaica. Nobody can say that suspicion (At very least) is un-warranted. Jamaica NEED to be setting an example.
