Re: Wonder what Mo thinks

GEZAHEGNE ABERA 2:07:56
STEFANO BALDINI 2:07:56
JOSEPH NGOLEPUS 2:07:57
PAUL TERGAT 2:07:59

Here are the results, as you can see Tergat who you would think had the fastest finish only managed 4th 2003.

Re: World Junior Championships

I meant 1996. If you were born 31 December 1995 you are eligible for the years 2011-2014. You still get to compete for 4 years as you turn 16 in 2011 and your last year being a junior is 2014 as turn 20 in 2015. The peson lucky enough to be born a day later does not turn 16 until 2012 the year they ...

Re: World Junior Championships

I dont think you understanding what I am writing If an athlete born on the 1st January has three years under 20 and another born on the 31st December the latter has another opportunity to run a year as a Junior fact. Being able to run for a junior for three years means a lot! You bring the point ab...

Re: Wonder what Mo thinks

London is a higher quality of field and can always be a bit cagey in the early stages. Mo will sit in the pack and react to the other runners. I think he will run about 2 hours 7 and 8 outside the top 3. I am still unconvinced Mo can be a top marathon runner but I hope i am wrong.

Re: World Junior Championships

With them being in America I expect it to be a very strong team by the host nation. All the events up to 400 for both the men and women will be loaded. It will be tough to medal.

Re: Another world record, this time the half marathon.

I'd prefer the powers that be to accept that pacing is a valid method for assisting a WR and allow pacers to join the race later on with fresh legs in the mens events which would then nullify the argument for questioning women's records achieved with male pacers. On a slight tangent, I can't ever r...

Re: Public Warning for Veronica Campbell-Brown

It does seem a odd case, there will always be doubt over her now because the full facts are unkown. Athletes are primary responible for what goes into there bodies the buck stops with them. Re: Winter Olympics

It also comes down to facilities. Speed Skating is huge in Holland and they have 6 active venues. Re: Athletes post-pregnancy

Re: Greatest ever female competitions/performances

If you include Flo-jom Kock and Krat, then Junxia s 3k records is equal to thoses performances. but they are all considered dogdy. Re: European Cross Country Championships 2013

If it becomes a Olympic sport it has to the winter Olympics. I agree whats wrong with running on snow, the 92 worlds in boston were on snow and the athletes coped. Plus they would have time to adapt theie training.

Re: European Cross Country Championships 2013

The IAAF in the 90's made the courses to flat (98 when they brought in the Shorter distance to encourage the track runners). X-country will only find itself again when they accept it is almost a different sport, the courses should be tough and rough, twists and turns, hills, and loads of mud.

Re: PSD could miss 2014 season

2014 is a write off either way, its going to take at least a year to recover her best form. I am sure PSD could run 50 flat at least. There may be a changing of the guard but i would not right of Felix or SRR just yet. Also McCorory is the same age and Spencer is 5 years younger.

Re: IAAF qualifying standards

How will this affect trials and do they become redundant?
How will it affect peaking as the standard will constantly change during the season?
Do Federations have to pick someone?

Interesting and will keep an eye on any developments

Re: IAAF 2013 World Athlete of the Year Candidates

The IAAF has turned this award into a PR exercise. Bolt was always going to win. With the womens final three. Pryce, Adams and Hjenova. Again Pryce is going to win. My personal choice would be Bondarenko and Hjenova. Doubles are difficult but they are not available to everyone. Holmes won double gol...

Re: GB Female Sprinters & Relay

My team if they were all fit and committed would be

Asha - Ashleigh - Dina - Jodie

Thats a team that will run low 42.

They need pratice in competition, Penn relays, Relay world champs and European Team and they could be very competitive at the Europeans
