Re: European Team Championships Gateshead 2013

Whilst I rarely post on the forum, I have always seen it as a great source of informed debate on all things athletics. More recently, however, it seems to have sunk to the depths of mud-slinging at fellow forum-posters, coaches and especially certain athletes whose faces just never seem to fit, rega...

Re: Goteborg 2013 Day 1

The officials may well have learned from Steve Hooker's antics and insisted on them vaulting on despite a Swede being the likely one to miss out! Holly over 4.56 anyway and in to the final.

but there are 9 in the men's HJ final with no one attempting auto qualifying of 2.31?????

Re: Holly Bleasdale leaves her coach !!

She made a flippant remark about Isi being disrespectful to other competitors IIRC which has nothing to do with whether she 'mentally fell apart' or not. Once again as the athlete with the least experience i can't blame her if she did and if so she was in good company, Feofanova, Murer, Pyrek didn'...

It seems to me that the real question is this: why wasn't UKA prepared to fund Julien Raffalli?

Do we know for certain that they aren't????? :?

Re: Holly Bleasdale leaves her coach !!

Could it be as simple as that in technical events having a full time athlete with a part time coach means the athlete isn't able to take proper advantage of being ful time as they can only really do their technical work around their coach's full time job. I really don't see the need for there to be...

Re: Women's Pole Vault

Why on earth should Bleasdale 'crawl away to a deep hole' when she had just gained a top 6 placing at her first Olympics, incidentally a target she set herself which she has spoken about many times recently????

Re: Olympic Tickets III

I didn't get tickets in the first round so was eligible to apply this time round. What a shock to find, when trying to get tickets for Women's pole vault final, that there were tickets to be had- but only at £450 a pop!!!!! :( my finances just don't stretch sadly!!!!

Re: WIC Istanbul 2012 Day 3 Chat

I think Andrew Osagie is happier with his bronze than Holly Bleasdale is with hers. However, it is Britain's first ever Senior PV medal at world level, male or female. On twitter it also says this: At 20y and 130d, @HollyBleasdale becomes the youngest ever pole vault medallist, male or female, at t...

Re: 2012 indoor season

Katie Byers has cleared 4.52 at a meeting in Nevers, in France (according to her coach on Twitter). That is outstanding if you think that she's 18 and Holly's best at 19 was 4.35... Issy's best U20 mark was 4.40. The Olympic A standard is 4.50. Actually Holly's best at 19 was her 4.70 NR in Mannhei...

Fantastic day in the Pole Vault. Bleasdale just equalled national Record of 4,60m first time!!!!

Earlier, training partner Katie Byres won the U20 competition with a massive new PB of 4.20m.
