Re: Delano Williams

Bev, I don't see any questions at all in Geoff's post I responded to, not one, so I apologise if I did not reply to a question raised. With regard to the proposal that any non homegrown athletes be separate to the medal target, why? The original target was not set based upon every athlete having be...

Re: Delano Williams

The UK Sport document which discussed how KPIs were calculated for the sports did exist and an excerpt was provided by Mr C Zacharides in a debate sparked by his FOI request tribunal in 2010. I cannot find a copy of the master document that Zac was using, but I can show refernce to the funding agre...

Re: Delano Williams

As for failing to read links. You copnsistantly post links to massive documents claiming that they support your argument, without actually saying where or how they do this. A few times people have actually bothered to try to read the whole thing and it's been shown that hey don't actually support a...

Re: Delano Williams

RTR, Fangio abelled one rule from the Olympic charter incorrectly. You on the other hand make up non existent meanings for things constantly. Ease don't confuse an honest mistake which made no difference, ie the rule quoted was in the IOC rules verbatim, with what you do on every damned thread. wel...

Re: Delano Williams

Fangio - that was a bit harsh response to Geoff - he has supported yet another 'import' who is not part of UKA system, thus. this should be reflective on post games reporting bev, Be aware that Fangio makes things up from mystery documents that he refuses to provide a single part of to substatiate a...

Re: "plastic brit" gains more coverage

Lawrence orld number 10 in 1st season as a senior - anyone else in that position who is not on full funding - is there anyone on full funding who is not that highly ranked. It seems to me they are trying to make things hard when they could help. Enforced changing of coaches by uka has rarely been s...

Re: Early outdoor 2012 results

Thanks Guto that clarifies eligibility. Throwing a spanner in the works!!! What about qualifying for podium/development funding? As funding is Olympic driven then should get it even though may not compete for GB at worlds. However if by doing so he deviates from what is required from him under a fu...

Re: do returning drug cheats still have benefits fro drug us

Have you noted that a ridiculously high percentage of Aussie swimmers are asthmatic and that not one commentator has raised a question that the best player in the world was on a highly beneficial drug the effects of which do not diminsion over time.I don't mean he does not shrink.have you noticed he...

Moses and BOA ban and level playing fields

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/athletics/17544580 Francis said that we had a level playing field in Moses's days ,but not quite the sort we may have thought. Now Howman from WADA says we only catch the dopey dopers and the clever get away with it and will do unless normal regulatory bodies ie police/i...

do returning drug cheats still have benefits fro drug use

http://www.slate.com/articles/sports/explainer/2012/03/justin_gatlin_is_sprinting_to_gold_again_is_it_possible_he_s_still_benefitting_from_doping_.html Lots of holes in the argument but I can see this as being part of the 4 yr ban suggestions. However that little Bacca player was on growth and now b...

Re: Early outdoor 2012 results

Is Bondarchuk the greatest coach that any sport has ever seen ? Ans = YES Totally agree. Now if someone could actually translate his work correctly other people could actually start applying his methods. It could be done but in the end we might as well try and translate Leonardo da Vinci such is hi...

Re: Perhaps this explains the need for supposed "plastic" Br

I have said many times that the model UKS are imposing came from Keen who oversaw the rapid expansion of cycling. But cycling (and rowing) are undeveloped sports and are not truly international and thus progress could be rapid. I see Bevones point about UKA structuring the Tall programme but the driv...

Re: Perhaps this explains the need for supposed "plastic" Br

I don't think recruiting talented athletes from other countries to compete for GB would be a planned strategy. I also dont think we should turn away anyone who is eligible (eg by birth) if they want to compete for us. Hence this debate about ''value for money'', whilst interesting, is pointless. A ...

Re: Perhaps this explains the need for supposed "plastic" Br

As far as i can determine the two ladies who have competed are the only two left in the program .I guess the money was there to be used in a constructive way but the profile they (NGB) were looking at has been tried many times before with extremely limited success. thanks for info. Weir was asked t...

Re: Perhaps this explains the need for supposed "plastic" Br

benn. How interesting.Any news on the male ones ? So there was funding for training of athletes. I think it also says much for NGB's having to go thru hoops set out by UKS. Also our sport is so advanced and truely global that we just cant get recruits out of the blue.Rowing and cycling can and do es...

Re: "plastic brit" gains more coverage

Big g Yet again I have to repeat that once again you invent what I say, fail to read what I say or grasp the basis of funding. The actual money would come from the pot agreed for 4 yrs.UKA have some freedom and exercise that freedom every Autumn and re-allocate to existing or new athletes and with so...

Re: "plastic brit" gains more coverage

Just to be clear I am using the term new internationals to describe Porter, Aldama etc, basically because I find "plastic Brits" utterly offensive. You say that you think these athletes should receive funding. But you also say that UKA should not receive the additional funding to pay for ...

Re: "plastic brit" gains more coverage

But the money from UKS is to be spent directly on supporting the athletes on funding. Soooooo if you say that UKA shouldn't get this money if the athletes aren't developed here then you are arguing that the athletes such as Porter and Co should not receive the support, because youa re arguing that ...

As for the funding document I have seen the paragraphs too and they were given to me by Zac. many people will know Z...
