oh my gawd-not another

Just when you thought it could'nt get any worse-Christine Ohuguru suspended for missing 3 (three)! drugs tests. I thought Rio Ferdinand was stupid but surely there must be some kind of error here?? Massive blow for 2012 organisers as she was the dream PR, coming as she does from Newham herself. Lets...

ok back on topic stroppy bollx!!!

Why are you questioning it-there are clear body types predisposed for certain events, but there will always be exceptions to any rule. It's common sense-so why question it?

CRAIG Mottram!! I doubt he likes being nicknamed after Buster Mottram--1970's nazi-supportng english tennis player who called himself 'Buster' so his initials were BM (as in British Movement-a junior version of the National Front). He had a conviction for slashing an asian girl across the face, stat...

Crystal palace

Anyone going tonight? Should be a great meeting-hope it stays dry for some fast sprinting. It's always been a slowish track but would love to see a sub 20 200, and a 9.8 something 100. (cant see the WR going unfortunately). Why is the timetable so early? Officially starting at 5.46 according to AW b...

I'm here Sam!! The rest are probably in shock after a quality British running performance.
Was a fantastic run by Mo, still needs about 15 seconds more to challenge for global medals but great all the same. Needs to work more on his tactics though after the AAA's!

Mine was excellent thanks Kima. Superb stadium (2 tier main stand with bottom tier raised). Access was allowed anywhere in the stadium. The crowd was obviously predominately Spanish obviously, but loads of British out there. The athletes freely mingled in the crowd which is always good PR for the sp...

Just managed to sort out my trip-the flights caused a problem but thankfully now sorted. Staying in Torremolinos which i believe is only 5k away from the track.

Tickets are so cheap at 30 euro for both days in main stand or 7 euros a day in the rest of stadium.

Is there any truth in the current rumours going around about a large split amongst the sprinters re. Dwain Chambers inclusion, hence the 3 withdrawls due to injury? Coincidence??

European Cup-Malaga

Is anyone going to next weeks European Cup in Malaga?
I'm off work next week and fancy a short trip to the sun. Could be a perfect combination all day down the beach then some competitive athletics in the evenings-lovely. I'll have to go on my own though as everyone I know is at work :(

As a personal trainer and strength/conditioning coach, I feel I can defend Spencer Duval for the recent articles. They are in the basics section after all and are generally excellent. Clearly written for newer and younger readers, they provide an excellent overview of all aspects of athletics and tr...

If I recall correctly Donna Hartley became a bodybuilder (and got very big), and married the northern '70's 'comedy' actor Bobby Knutt.

Most attractive......

An often asked question this (I know its low brow and strictly non-pc but I'm bored-sorry)-who do you consider male or female to be the most attractive athletes past/present?? I reckon, Lorraine Baker, Ashia Hansen, Wendy Sly, Sharon Danville, Sam Farquahson (Colin Jacksons ex-'girlfriend') Jo Wise ...

I agree with Albert on this one-got to question her coach sticking her down for such races.(And in that heat last week).
At this rate she'll be burnt out within the year.

I believe her future does lie though, in the 'chase but this is'nt the way to do it surely?

Cameron Sharpe

Does anyone remember (better still have a copy) of a BBC documentary about Cameron Sharpe from about 20(!) years ago?
It was one of the most moving and inspiring things I've seen (It was after his car crash-about his rehabilitation)

Wendy Sly was indeed a great runner in her time-always had a go and had real guts, but in regards to the 'greatest British woman athlete'--she really is nowhere near. Yvonne Murray and Liz Lynch would be far ahead of her-and they're Scotch

Blimey what a farce! How has it only come to light now-surely the track official should have clocked it straight away! Is it because of video evidence? Shame as BMC meetings are usually run perfectly. One of the few bright moments in British md running of recent years and the times are wiped out bec...

I have high hopes for Marilyn Okoro having seen her run a few times. Thought she may have gone sub 2 in Melbourne. Will be interesting to see how those athletes from the Commonwealths cope with peaking twice. Don't know what has happened to Mcilroy though-perhaps the worst advert for his new coach yo...

Hi there-just joined the forum. I know these are opinions (and as Clint Eastwood said 'opinions are like a**holes, everybody's got one, and they are best hidden'). But how can anyone think that Denise Lewis or tessa are more worthy than kelly Holmes/Paula/Sally. The Olympic Gold is clearly the bench...
