Trackandfieldnews Site Ruined by Admin?

As much as I enjoy this website, I also think its helpful to visit international websites for some results/news that might not be covered here. Trackandfieldnews used to provide a decent source of information and results, but even as a lurker, I just can't read it anymore because of the admin Gh. He...

Re: Doha DL

Women's long jump has had the potential to be a huge even over the past few years but has disappointed at major championships. I truly believe Reese will jump Whatever it takes to win, ergo she needs competition. Incredible to see three 7+ metre jumps and proctor in 5th with a world championship win...

Re: Outdoor Results 2013

I'm hearing Deedee Trotter is bored with the 400 and now doing Long jump? The Oly bronze medalist who has just stepped up her game quits as she actually achieves success?

Melanie Walker has left MVP after coach doesn't support her wish to move to the 100/200?!

Strange, but mildly interesting!

Re: more russians banned

I'm still in shock that their entire walk team hasn't been caught! The insane times put up by the walkers, men and women, who train on the outskirts in their own camps......if any Russian athlete should be caught, it;s that entire group!

Seeing as she's now there and talking about it on Facebook i'm sure it's fine to say that Maz is in US. She'll be coached by Johnny Gray :D and training with Duane Solomon and Maggie Vessey :D :D Great move Maz Same Maggie Vessey who was given a ban before Christmas for a known masking agent, but g...

Re: TURKISH DELIGHT

I'm not even happy! It's too late. I seriously agree with federations being held responsible, the litany of medals that Turkey have won Melis Meyer, Cakir, Bullut, Uzlu, Yanit, Ahyan.............. They should be held accountable and made to pay financially first and then politically with a ban. But ...

Re: Goteborg 2013 Day 2

WHEN is Nevin Yanit going to be caught! Why do you think Yanit is doping? Perhaps he/she would rather somebody else finished first 8) Not a good loser then? Re: WORST PERFORMANCE IN A BRITISH/ENGLISH VEST

I would like to nominate Tasha Danver's first leg of the 4x4 in Sydney and then counteract that with her massive over achievement of a bronze in Beijing, breaking 54 and making the podium. Massive kudos for that massive shock Another flopstar to rockstar was Idowu, 4 fouls in AThens to then win silv...

Re: European Athlete of the Year

Greg? :? One big win with a fairly average jump. I'd have several men ahead of him including Majewski who repeated with a national record Ukhov big win with a big distance...how can Robbie be chosen above the champ? Pars ..big g, multiple wins and an over 80 throw. Kirdyapkin also had a better win t...

Re: Obscure European Athletes

Awesome knowledge!

I can think of a heap of compatriots who got married, but not so many from differing countries.

Didn't know any of the ones you mentioned. I should probably start a thread on children of famous athletes, it's also mildly interesting to note ;)

Obscure European Athletes

This thread is dedicated to those obscure, European athletes with limited success. Generally, my favourite kind of athlete for some unbeknownst reason. Anyway the first post is dedicated to stalwart, Simone Collio. Despite being the love child of David Guest: http://www.runners-tv.it/upload/news/col...

Re: Lausanne Diamond 2012

Anyone want to discuss the British women in the 4x100  ? I was thinking earlier, and I'm really not willing to let my mind consider anything untoward, but isn't it such a massive coincidence that the two fastest men in history are first off, contemporaries, secondly compatriots and thirdly trai...

Re: Lausanne Diamond 2012

Barshim clears 2'39 on his 3rd attempt with a short run up.
Grabarz goes out, two solid attempts

Ukhov tries at 2'41 decent both not to be.

2'37 1st time only good enough for 3rd, considering 2'29 got these guys a bronze, that's

WOW, Belete has a hard fall, horrible wounds to the head and shoulder, looks like she has been in a car crash :( . She cut in way to sharply and caused the fall herself IMO.

Re: Hannah England 1:59 800m!

The fact remains, she's 3 seconds faster than her collegiate best! 4 years, and 3 seconds faster. She's way too talented for that. Hope she kicks on more and has more success this quad.

if Bullut can improve by 20 seconds in a year, and Cakir by 8 seconds,...wel...

Re: Hannah England 1:59 800m!

This season is a complete fck up for her. Actually, Hannah was beating Sally Kipyego at NCAA and running 4 ' 05 and sub 2 in 2008/2009. I feel like she has almost wasted the last quad with the exception of a world silver which could well have been gold. A coaching change might do her the world of go...

Re: Double Duty

These doubles are way more common with the women. In recent years there has been: Felix, won both in London Guschina, actually won gold in the 4/1 in Beijing and lead off the 4/4 the next day for a silver. Jeneba tarmoh did both at NCAAs last year. Latasha Colander Richardson anchored the USA 4/4 In...

Lowe is actually only 28 and has had 2 children! She took 2007 off to have her first child, and then took last year off to have her second. Chaunte Lowe Retired? :(

Chaunte Lowe has just started her new job as a high school Math teacher. http://www.11alive.com/rss/article/252219/40/Grayson-High-welcomes-Olympian-turned-teacher It appears she may now be a retired.
