DN Galan in Stockholm 2010 - URGENT INFO NEEDED PLEASE!

Hi there Having booked flights and 5* hotel for 3 nights in centre of Stockholm for 3 people (not an inconsiderable sum...) I've been thwarted in my attempts to purchase tickets for the Stockholm Diamond League meeting on Friday 6 August 2010. A reservation has been made on Ticnet.se (part of Ticket...

Really pleased with this news - it would be superb if the Worlds came to London of course. Let's hope it becomes a reality now.

Our male Long Jumpers were particularly poor and both could have easily medalled with half-decent distances they are both capable of - having said that, the other jumpers could have done the same such was the below-par overall level. Not a great deal of positives from a GB point of view other than t...

Great championships overall I thought. Disappointed by UK team as a whole - but tbh. hardly noticed due to the quality of some events, and the dramatic finishes in others. Looking forward to diamond league and euros now. Off to run a few 60s in sub 6.5 followed by a massive TJ - it's sunny out so I...

17.90m at age of 20. The most remarkable athletics feat for some time in my opinion. What a way to finish off the action from Doha - it's been an amazing three days all things considered.

Or you're simply trying so hard to prove that you're much of a muchness Mumpboy... Satisfied again? Trevor, it's so easy to see that you're bereft of any sort of personality... Don't need to spread it so much around! And don't try to show us what you're actually doing right now - literally! Because...

Murer wins PV with 4.80m - a surprise winner in some ways but great that Isinbayeva's dominance is being challenged.

To make the commentary just about perfect we'd need Sally Gunnell on trackside interviewing people... "oh dear, you finished last...aww well bless you for having a jolly good go" and then Channel 4's 'Big Boy Barry' introducing each of the events. That would top things off nicely. I bet T...

17.69m... 17.69m!!!!!!!!! That was reminiscent of the great J Edwards by Betanzos of Cuba! Seemed to hang there for ages in the step and jump phases. Was almost in the pit itself after the step. Poetry in motion!

That was a new record-breaking outburst from Connie Henry following Teddy Tambgo's first Triple Jump attempt (17.41m)... thought she was going to explode... no such luck though : (

there has been a distinct lowering of the decibel level today do you think someone has told her to STFU I thought that early on but now she's getting excited and carried away again. Reese has appalling technique but it's amazing that 6.70m was good enough for gold. Not exactly setting the world alight but we knew the run-up/board have not been producing high calibre jumps so far in both men's and women's LJ comps.

Cracking Women's 1500m Final, really enjoyed that and nice to see Rodriguez splitting the Ethiopians with both medalling - especially after last summer's events in Berlin.

On the subject of Jeter, Connie Henry was asked about her own favourite moments from Friday's action and she said: "Errrm, I thought that...errr... the American... (desperately trying to remember name)... errr... looked good. Tim H: "Carmeilta Jeter?" Connie: "Yes, that's her.&qu...

Poor Rob was losing his voice today, however, making him sound a bit like a creepy, breathy pest caller at the end of the women's 3000. I nearly fell off my chair whilst reading this Michael F... classic analogy, brilliant! That is precisely how Mr Walker sounded and you sum it up perfectly. ...

Connie Henry... oh dear.

Okay, here goes... Whilst Connie Henry was a decent international Triple Jumper in her time some 10+ years ago, she has made me laugh during her 'commentary' of the World Indoors. Although I have not personally met her and respect her athletics endeavours, her technical knowledge and general style o...
