A brilliant mens 1500 metres with great performances, won by Kiplagat in sub 3.30 and a marvellous improvement by the American Wheating into 3.30 land; what about the outstanding 20 year old Gregson breaking the Aussie record; think what the fans would say if he were a Brit.  Seven Worl...

2 Gold, maybe 3; 12/13 medals overall.

The ''possibly best ever'' and ''why not 21 medals''( or words to that effect) quote by fangio of some weeks ago in response to others looks rather over-optimistic

Certainly nothing approaching Split or Budapest.

A great run by Alminova... I dont think her ban was anything to do with performance enhancing drugs... imagine if LD had run a race like her last night.. comments here would have been off the radar. The 1500 womens race race in Barcelona will be nothing like last night and a good sprint will not be ...

would not have been ''spot on '' if others had said it though. I seem to remember reading last year from some poster or other that we Brits had no more injuries than others which I did not agree with then; the number of our injured sprinters as a percentage of the total talented bunch is enormous. O...

The interest and excitement caused by Lemaitres breakthrough is perfectly natural and the usual name calling of the PC mob is ill advised as well as unjustified. After all, if the Ethiopians suddenly delivered an 80 metre hammer thrower it would cause the highest interest among the intelligent Track...

There is a difference of 3 rounds at the highest level and DL one offs, but there is little between Lemaitre and DC. DC has the experience but its not everything as the TJ might show. Whether DC 's relative freshness is of value in Barcelona remains to be seen. Will be fascinating to see Lemaitre ,B...

The list of qualifiers with an A standard is not correct and certain people ,pre Trials, down on the Fangio list are not yet qualifiers, due to a caveat by the selectors. Read Selection document re form, fitness.

The event will be decided on the second day, in my opinion, and will be likely based on the top 3/4 athletes performances in the long jump and javelin. Dismissing other athletes as we note already is ill advised after 1 event The wind was +0.7 and not - 0.7. in the hurdles as told to me by someone w...

Shame about the disqualification. in the final UB looked shagged out at the end of the race. 9.77, 19.83, said to be the splits He needs to go home after his Koren, Chinese and East European travels and get ready for a big one in New york. Not impressed by Messrs Edgar, Pickering, MLF. If Edgar and Pickering cannot do better than the very moderate times this evening despite a 0.5 headwind, we best hope for some of the newer faces to come good, later on in the season. We read that the meet in Uberlandia in which Chambers ran 10.19 is 854 metres above sea level and thus the head wind and height above sea level combined is worth 10.01 . Excellent, but not awesome.

Nearly all the best of the past and a fair number of the present Heppers were and are taller and benefited in JE's weaker events, thus forcing her to excel even more than necessary in her trump events,Hurdles ,HJ and 200...
