1 BECKWITH Molly USA 2:01.09 2 MOORE Erica USA 2:02.26 3 SIMPSON Jemma GBR 2:02.30 ...obviously pretty windy, so not sure what to make of that. Jemma is probably not giving Hachlaf any nightmares at the moment though. Why the sarcasm Paul? You don't know that Jemma is a month behind in her training...
Sidelined. Understand your position and respect your text re defending Semenya who we all acknowledge has had a very tough time and been badly treated by many including her own countrymen. As far as I am concerned she has the same rights as any one else, but 'balance and truth' are needed. Having ju...
I admire Simpson for asking the question all the others are desperate to know the answer to. Its a shame the two 'gushing' interviewers made complete fools of themselves after Berlin by talking all their happy nonsense about Semenya. What we have to remember is that the difference between elite male...
Or alternatively she's a 19 year old woman with very limited racing experience, facing the the best field she's ever competed against whilst obviously not in her best form and getting her tactics all wrong. She's only run 3 world class races ever. The idea that after a year off she should be able t...

You Plonker!
It was so obvious she was told to come less than first or else people would begin to suspect. She was clearly cruising and could have won easily if asked to.
Isabre, just come back on the forum in another guise, they can't stop you from doing that.
Your comments were great, it's a shame that "Roseben" ruined it all.
[quote="paulouk83"]I do agree, but for Jemma this was her first major final. This year she has proven she has the talent! She should have been the Hak of the race, I believe that if she had of attacked it like Hak she would have won. Her first major was the Commonwealth Games in 2006 where...
None of you are bigging up your own athlete, therefore, I will.
Well done Jemma a very good PB and I could see there is more to come from you. Going into the European Championships in second position in Europe, that looks very promising to me.
I meant as far as gender is concerned. Yes, I agree with the running times! The season's bests aren't that diverse with the average athlete unless they've been injured. The trouble with athletics now is, it's all about money to some and has lost it's innocence. Bring back the days where the aim was ...
I've just watched the video of the race Kermit posted, and she doesn't look like she has lost any condition. She won the race as she pleased, and looks capable of going below 2-00 any time she chooses.I note that she has now just knocked another 2 secs off that in a further race in Finland. I know I...
Sorry, cant help being cynical but this all looks scripted to me. Coach says she'll run 2-04, and thats exactly what she runs....in a meeting where thats good enough to win. Why do I think that if she'd needed a 2-00 run to win she would have produced it. I bet she wins the C Games if thats where s...
Sorry been on a course for a couple of days. Ok, on Thompson what I am saying is that I don't think he is a top 8 prospect for 2012 for the 5000m, and I stick by that. 13.11 is not a top 8 pb, it championship ranks him (by that I mean only including 3 athetles from any country) 18th this year 14 se...
I don't think anyone said Thompson was not good enough (well apart from Roseben) I still don't think he should go. He failed to meet the criteria and is still not a prospect for top 8 at London 2012. I'm going to save this quote and in 2012 I'll re-post it and I'd like to hear your opinion then :wi...
Chris Thompson had to go by all rights even if he achieved the qualifying standard past the deadline since he was already on the squad over 10000m. Criteria, I come back once again, should form more of guidelines rather than hard and fast rules, always to the best interests and prospects of the squ...
I don't think anyone said Thompson was not good enough (well apart from Roseben) I still don't think he should go. He failed to meet the criteria and is still not a prospect for top 8 at London 2012. Do you mean Chris shouldn't go? He's top two in Europe for the 10k and top three for the 5k. I see ...
The fastest she ran in 2008 was 2.04.23 but it's still a massive leap in one year to reach 1.55. If any other female did that there would be huge suspicion.
What I'm saying is how could a woman progress from 2.11 to 1.55 over a period of one year when it takes average females many years to achieve the same results. Call me simple but I seem to be missing something here!
This girl gets a lot of sympathy. But where is the sympathy for the person who finished second at the World Championships after Semenya ran when both she and her governing body knew there was a problem. Where will be the sympathy for those behind her if she "wins" at London 2012? The sport...
"in particular Marilyn Okoro who hadn't showed much prior to this race this season but won a tactical first semi in 2:03.59 ahead of in-form Jemma Simpson (2:03.73)" isabre I'm surprised at you! Jemma does what's necessary to qualify and no more. Why would she need to beat Marilyn in a sem...
I agree with Bevone, I don't get these attacks on Isabre. Isabre's reports are fair and intelligent about the athletes. For eg. James Brewer yesterday. One person commented that James Brewer was rubbish. What a thing to say about a hard working athlete. Doesn't that person understand how middle dist...
Hello Mump Boy Normally I'm only interested in reading stuff on this forum. I'm not a contributor to the threads. I enjoy reading them (normally). I also really enjoy what Isabre has to say, to me, he makes a lot of sense. Therefore, I don't like it when someone has a go at him (or her) in the way t...
I read that the lunatic, Isabre, who has completely gone over the top , accuses me of Racism and that is libelous and untrue. I am writing in the next few days a letter of Formal Complaint about this nasty little person, Isabre, to Jason Henderson, the Athletics Editor of AW and I am copying to him...
