Re: What is happening?

I can't believe some of the unadulterated crap coming from some guys(girls) here. Clearly no understanding of anything other than cream buns and envy. If any of the nay-sayers have ever worked anywhere near a school or club, or coached even at a basic level I shall be most surprised. Fangio and Big ...

Re: Pretty sad

Fangio, It took a bit of time to work out what you meant. Clearly I am not comparing the sports, I am saying that funding them all in the same way is ludicrous, which in essence is what you appear to be saying. Incidentally, I don't need you to tell me whether I am serious or not about discussing th...

Re: What is happening?

Agreed Kermit, but the legacy word has been totally perverted to mean the resultant burst of activity and facilities that were meant to result directly from the Olympic Games. Many people including yourself saw through that flimflam, and pushed the view that schools and clubs would sustain and devel...

Re: What is happening?

The question is really are the punters who stump up their £££ to buy lottery tickets getting value for money. On the surface the answer has to be yes for most of the key Olympic sports. For athletics the question is still open. It was quoted this morning that they are spending £4.5 million on each m...

Re: wHT (NR for Hitchon)

I see the experts are here as well !!!

What a fabulous throw from Sophie. She will, even if not this time, be vying for a medal at a major !! Well done Sophie.

Re: Pretty sad

What a childish bunch ! No answers just pretend IT based cliches. Of course I have posted on AD as have you lot. Still as I say it takes more than one brain cell to analyse this kind of systemic problem, and that is what this appears to be. A universal system being applied in specifically different ...

Re: Pretty sad

Whoeveryouare or whatever. This is my thread and I don't want trolls like you degrading it with idiot comments. I am interested to know why the system which has succeeded in other sports has signally failed in athletics, and I am sure others with more than one brain cell would like to post their vie...

Re: M Discus

Super from Lawrence, but complete rubbish from the other two. Trouble is we have had very strong and positively helpful windy conditions for the last two years now and the results have flattered to deceive. 65m in still non-windy conditions in the Olympic Stadium is certainly as good as Lawrence's 6...

Re: Pretty sad

Strange people on this site !! 'Paranoid androids' even. The point is that the prescribed system that UK Sport Director of Performance, Peter Keen, has laid out for all sports doesn't seem to have worked with athletics yet it has with cycling, rowing, equestrian, gymnastics etc. If you chaps don't w...

Are they serious ???

"Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Jamaican Independence with 25% off the Aviva Birmingham Grand Prix!"

Desperate or what ?

Really insulting to a serious and wonderful occasion.

Still anything goes for an OBE eh ?

That's a bit cryptic !!

What's happening? I thought England were supposed to be independent of UKA, or that's what we were lead to believe. Or are you saying this isn't the case ?

England run by UKA

Does anybody have further information about England being told what to do by UKA?

I hear there have been severe problems for England getting squads organised this winter because UKA want to call the shots and choose the coaches.

This sounds like a great idea. It could be the first stage of giving coaches a say in what's happening.

Wilkins

Are we seeing another Wilkins incident in the men's shot ? I can't understand why Mark Edwards would turn down competing in the Europa Cup and avoid virtually all competition in the UK, yet be able to demonstrate '20m form' in America. The only time he has competed against his peers was in 'Lufbra' ...

Testing for dopes

I am intrigued to hear rumblings in the dope testing/science community that foolproof tests for HGH and IGF have been in operation for some time. Apparantly they are based on isotope differences or something a bit like the EPO test. No published results yet, apparantly because they are confirming th...
