Re: GB London Olympic Team

Can someone name and shame this selection panel. Evidently they all agreed with the 800m womens selection so I would like to know who they all are. Nothing against Sharp at all but so clearly the wrong decision. This could actually adverely affect Sharps future as well.

Re: UK Women's 800m

Has anyone noticed that all the A standards gained this year have been picked up abroad. Basically the conditions on tracks in UK have not been conducive to fast times. Perhaps explains why some of those runners with A times performed so badly in Birmingham in what have been typical conditions all t...

Re: Olympic Kit

Except Paul McCartney has lived in Scotland for large part of his life and is responsible for that Mull of Kintyre dirge. At the very least he is a plastic Scot ! If you look at the vest, even forgetting the colours its a terrible design and looks totally unbalanced. Just shows that in fashion a fam...

Re: SPOTY

Surely the question should be, Why does anyone take this award seriously. Any award where NUTS magazine has a say in who is shortlisted should be boycotted by any reasonable sports fan.

Re: Dwain's Sermon of Hope!

Seeing as its looking more and more like someone clearly cheating by ingesting drugs on a planned program will soon be allowed to runin an Olympics within just two years of blatantly cheating, to save the sport I suggest ; Every athlete who has been found to knowingly cheat be made to wear a competi...

Re: The Latest Brit

Whatever, it seems she is going to the World Youths . From being unheard of last week, she is suddenly on the U17 rankings in 3rd for 1500m and also in 800 and SC and now has a large number of races listed. Would look like she suddenly has a history on PO10, one can only assume she is about to be pi...

Re: Olympic tickets - money taken?

As this has unfolded i am now appalled at the whole ticketing process. The secrecy behind the ballot details (not being held to account by FOI act) , the must buy using a visa issue (how this gets past anti-competitive legislation I dont know) and now looking at some of the prices for a 2 hour morni...

Re: Who will get the Olympic Stadium?

The big problem is if its reduced to 25,000 and kept for athletics / community as per the original plans then there are going to be upkeep costs of approx £1 million a year. With the new Coalition goernemnt cutting swathes of money out of the public sector its difficult to see this being agreed to b...

Re: Did you know...

Difficult to believe its anything but a political decision to not include such races. After all POT have decided to include Park Run race times. I have run a number of these races and enjoy them but if you include the times for these races then you really dont have a leg to stand on for excluding ot...

Re: How the cuts will affect sport

There are plenty of good PE teachers already out there. The problem is the the change in aspirations of the kids. There is no kudos in being good at a sport like athletics among their social group unless they are the very best / no 1in the country, even then its only on a par with being a good karao...
