Re: Will CVC really go now?...

CVC just told the Beeb he is taking a couple of weeks to reevaluate things - having been advised to by a few friends, including the CEO of UKA He genuinely looked like he would have resigned but I'm not so sure now. Sue Campbell wants him to stay That interview convinced me that he wants to go. I n...

Re: W 800m

I thought Semenya gave it her all tonight and that on this occasion, she just wasn't the match of Savinova. I don't wish to re-enter an argument of eligibility but we're definitely seeing a different Semenya now than we witnessed back in 2009. Kermit alluded in an earlier post to what she's had/havi...

Re: Women's 4x400m

Wasn't a dig at you, dig at somebody else who failed to understand what I was saying and thought I agreed with the bizarre orders we've seen over the past couple of days when I was saying it wasn't the main thing. We certainly threw away medals in both men's relays in different ways where we did ha...

Shock in the javelin! Walcott of Trinidan & Tobago wins the GOLD medal! :) (I'm pretty certain this is the first time a black man, let alone someone from the Caribbean, has won a medal in any major javelin comp (outside of the Commonwealth Games, but I'll have to look into that). Amazing achiev...

Re: Women's 4x400m

In 1991 had 3 guys who could run sub 45 for the 400 and a 200 runner who eventually ran sub 20. That's a team you can do something with, the order might make a difference and it did, though even then the masterplan only worked because Akabusi produced a stunning run to beat the individual champion ...

Ok, Make Denise Lewis the boss of GB relay running. After her making one minor statement she has displayed a knowledge that our curent 'gurus' clearly do not possess.

To be fair, Williams was ONE second faster than Levine on the first leg. I think that justifies his statement.

Re: W Long Jump

With modern technology, take off boards could easily become a thing of the past negating the fouls in a competition. Just measure (at high level competitions anyway) from the point of take off, wherever that may be, to the landing point.

Re: W Long Jump

BTW, Brittany Resse is on fire tonight... every single one of her jumps have been over 7 meters (albeit 3 of the four have been fouls), but the last two fouls were in the 7.25/7.35m region! She's obviously a great athlete but i can't take her seriously, she obviously doesn't take long jumping very ...

Re: M 1500m

In my experience, if something looks rotten and smells rotten then it's proabably rotten. Just wait for the medals to be reassigned sometime over the next 12 months...great shame for what used to be the blue riband event of the games.
