Re: Kingmaker's replies

It's obvious that Kingmaker is the only person who has understood what I am asking and is treating the question seriously. Thanks, Kingmaker. Well, if you'd define the terms of the question properly then we could help. These type of topics appear very frequently, but the term 'white' or 'black' has...

Re: Continuation of the question of the white man's world re

Borzov, Wells etc are white. That's obvious. What I want to know, and have defined, is when do you turn black? Is it when there's even a slight darkening of the skin? Is the offspring of one black and one white parent black or white? What about the offspring of the above and one white parent? (i.e....

I've seen Thompson, and he's definitely not black. Francis Obikwelu is darker, but I'd argue still not black. You see, if you want to define white as anybody not coloured in any way, then the same logic must be applied at the other end of the scale, too. Hence, most of the world's top sprinters are ...

If you're stopped on your way home from a pub tonight by a policeman with what you know is a pint too many, refusing to give a sample won't do you much good. There's a difference between refusing and missing. Lots of people will drive home from the pub tonight with one too many, but only a few will...

Re: Ohuruogu - Fair or Fault

One year suspension - compared to 3 months for a judo player and 6 months for a power lifter. Not to mention a lifetime ban from the Olympics and CG. I presume she has passed tests in this time period. So if they target you, all they have to do is keep turning up endlessly on your doorstep and you'...

Unbelievable set of performances. The Highs: Liu -12.88: half expected, but not until Beijing 2008, perhaps. Arnold 12.90: an American record, unreal. Trammell equal PB, Robles-always knew he was going to be good. Definitely one to watch. The 200m: Spearmon looked second rate, but almost equalled hi...

Can I still call you stupid paddy? Yes, of course. It's what I am. :D I think for rankings purposes, an athlete has to be over 20 but under 23 when they set their time/distance. I've not read that this is the official rule, but looking at the rankings it would appear that this is the case. Weird, I...

Rooney rankings question?

Looking at the European rankings, Rooney is number 1 at junior and senior level, but not at U-23 level. Is he not under 23?

A gold medal is a gold medal. If she wins one, in whatever event, she'll be a world junior champion.

Maybe everybody should just quit their event and plump for either the 100m or the marathon? Anything else is just wimping out...

BBC faux pas

Joint world-record holders Justin Gatlin and Asafa Powell will also be in the field at the 11 June event.

They all last raced together at the London Grand Prix last July, when Powell won and Gardener was fifth.

Tut, tut.

I'd expect better from the Beeb.

Pidgeon has already run five 2k steeples! That's 25 water jumps! And she's the UK junior record holder. For Gawd sakes, people, she had an accident, give it a rest. And wish her a speedy recovery.
