Are BOA simply feckless?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympic ... 412054.stm

500 days to go and we can't afford to send a team to our home Olympics!

Only in Britain....

Re: Is cortisone injection doping?

It's enabling you to train beyond your physical capabilities, much as EPO does. Whether it's illegal or not... consult the rule books.

Matthew,

Are there any plans to add to the archive retrospectively? An online archive of AW would be a superb resource.

I can't see athletics being dropped totally, but I can see the format being tinkered with. If you look at cycling with the dropping / inclusion of certain events I can see a time when IOC try to do the same with athletics and drop less glamorous events.

The admins of AD should be careful.... one of them has also stood for political election so deleting the views of the opposition party would be viewed as corrupting an election.

I'd post that on AD, but alas I'm long since banned for having a brain....

Look, it's very simple. You take the current world record and then you compare your own performance to it. No adjustments for age, knee surgery or any other nonsense... That's a true indicator of how good you are. Age grading is just stuff and nonsense! I tell you what. For £50 I'll post you a sheet...

Kermit, I don't really understand why you keep trying to compare athletics coaching with fitness trainers. "Athletics" is an entity. By that I mean it's run / managed by UKA / regions / clubs as a single organisation. It's reasonable to expect a comparable level of coaching across all club...

I don't like people who waste the taxes that I pay on pointless, petty nonsense. The courts in this country have enough to deal with, without your pathetic, continued tirade against BMAF.

Ovett and Coe were bloody minded about what they were going to achieve. Medals and world records. Todays athletes seem more bothered about doing enough to stay on funding, rather than aiming to be the best.

UK Sport must surely insist on major changes to the structure, policies and personnel. As track and field has to succeed in London, UK Sport will probably provide similar and then increased funding if suitable changes take place. I thought it was UK Sport who had implemented the current structure??...

All I will say on the matter is the following:- I have seen 5 different polls from various forums and all have been in favour of Chambers. Even UKA are not sure that the BOA ban is legal in the eyes of the law. It's got nothing to do with whether UKA think the ban is legal. BOA select the team base...

Exactly. I never really warmed to him and it was hard to justify carrying on funding him, when he barely runs for Great Britain outside of Olympic competition (OK, I know he has had his injuries) but I can probably count the number of his international caps this decade on one hand. So outside of th...
