Re: Marta Dominguez

Yet again our British female athletes have been denied medals at major champs then due to others doping. Hattie Dean (Archer) should be upgraded in the 2010 steeplchase after finishing 4th. Note also that Jo Pavey finished 4th in the 5000m at the 2006 European Champs where Dominguez won. A look at t...

Re: Outdoor Results 2013

Let's remember that the World Champs are a bit later this year than the Olympics were, so in general the competition timetable is a bit more spread out and athletes have more time to get qualifying standards etc. This weekend will see lots compete though with BIG at Bedford and the Manchester street...

Vivian Cheruiyot Out

Vivian Cheruiyot will miss Moscow and therefore the chance to defend her two world titles.

No official reason given yet, injury, pregnancy ?

Does this leave the way for an Ethiopian clean sweep ? Will Genzebe Dibaba challenge her sister in the 5000m or stick with the 1500m i wonder.

Re: Outdoor Results 2013

considering it was won in 1.48.81 can we assume that it was likely a messy, slow and tactical race.

If he does finish with Doha as his seasons best, it would be the 3rd season in a row...

Re: Loughborough International meet

Shaunagh Brown 16.39m in the shot and 66.06m in the Hammer. Great if she could start to push on towards 70m and start to challenge Hitchon. She seems to be turning away from the discus and focussing more on the hammer in the past couple of years, still just 23.

Re: Shanghai DL

Clitheroe was just pace making. Conrad Williams was disqualified along with Maslak for a false start. They didn't show any replays but took them a while to decide. I don't really know what is happening with Merritt, he didn't attempt the first hurdle, so i guess he must have felt something as soon a...

Re: Shanghai DL

Merrit with an injury as well it appears, not a good night for some of the Americans, Will Claye and Dwight Phillips not so good in the long jump either. Meet down in quality in comparison to Doha, but i guess a lot of athletes are probably reluctant to travel to a meet so far away this early in the...

Re: 2013 Outdoors medals and top 8s

i think the number of top 8 positions will be as good as last year if not slightly better. I thihk some athletes definately pushed themselves too hard before the Olympics or the pressure got to them leading to a few sub par performances. With the pressure off i think we will see a stronger showing a...

The British Milers Club put on some great meets all summer. Perhaps results of these meets can go in this thread so they don't get buried amongst others. The first main grand prix may be this weekend, but this evening in watford there is a small meet with some big names. Start lists. http://www.brit...

A big difference between an athlete self promoting and someone who is doing their sport but faces commentary not on their performances but on their aesthetic qualities. Re: Outdoor Results 2013

I think she is going to be pushing for no.1 1500m runner this season. She is not afraid to get right up there with the best and i think she will rewrite her 1500m PB this season. Judd, like Weightman, will transition well into senior races because it just looks like they aren't afraid of their other...

The first BMC grand prix meet of the year, unusually early and at Solihull, will have a big impact on the middle and long distance fields. The likes of Steph Twell and Emelia Gorecka are competing there on the saturday night.

Re: KJT

Its unlikely that most of the articles about Klishina concentrate on her (undoubted) beauty. Most will focus on what she does. Nothing wrong with the odd one talking about her looks as well as her talent. Maria Sharapova lives with such comments every time she walks on court. I doubt it bothers her...

So you reallym think it is from demand that this type of article was produced, or that writers who decide to feature Klishina could not think of anything much more beyond the obvious to primarily focus on in the article ? I will give the many women who read the article (but lets face it, is probably...

Re: Outdoor Results 2013

Jodie had one bad year, last year, which was down to an injury. Up until then her progression had been great. If this year doesn't go great then maybe there could be claims that she isn't progressing the way people thought, but its way too early to tell. This is technically her first year of senior ...
