Re: Outdoor Results 2013

Alex Russell is emerging as a new name to the women's long jump after jumping 6.56m in Wigan. It looks like she was out injured for most of last season so is making an impressive return!

Re: Penn Relays

3:22.68 for the ladies. 0.02 behind US! They looked fantastic and at one point I thought the British Record was on! child ran a blinder against Jessica Beard, looked mike a low 51, Cox really held onto Cox until the last 100m (which does seem to be her weak point), Christine closed the gap on Trott...

Re: Outdoor Results 2013

Sebastian Rogers has rocketed to the top of the British 400mh rankings with a solid 50.55secs opener, just 0.05 off his PB, should bode well fpr the season ahead. Also Daniel Lewis just failed to become the 3rd British man to clear 16m in the triple jump with a 15.96m leap with a zero wind over in t...

Re: Outdoor Results 2013

JJ Jegade = 8.05m = not a bad opener!

I predict at least 6 Brits over 8 meters this season. surely that would be a first?!

Re: Outdoor Results 2013

Just noticed promising youngster Kai Jones reached to a new PB in the 5kg Shot with 19.19m. Still 2m behind Carl Myerscough's U17 record but not bad and he has only recently turned 16. Also noticed another promising youngster who seems to have disappeared off the scene, Curtis Griffith-Parker, he wa...

Re: Athletes on the move

But at the same time, I think the 4,11 is probably a true indication of her abilities over 1,500m, we know she has the flat 400m speed but surely she needs to bring her 1,500 pb down to improve her stamina (which we know is questionable) over 800m. Saying that.... our top two male 800m runner, Osagi...

Re: Athletes on the move

I agree quite a lot with what bevone has said, just because someone might not appear as mentally strong as the likes of Ennis or meadows for example, doesn't mean they can't be at the top of their sport. On teh other hand, Maz's 1500 pb is 4.11, I would say she needs to knock a good 8 seconds off th...

Re: Indoor Results 2012/2013

I read on Twitter the impressive youngster Daryl Neita, ran 7.51 over 60m which is a new PB today. There really are some impressive young female sprinters such as Neita, Asher-Smith, Williams, Shannon Hylton, Papps, Henry and Hannah Brier (who has only just turned 15). Anyone know of the whereabouts...

Re: Indoor Results 2012/2013

Some people develope early, everyone grows at different rates. Many factors determine if and when your be sucessful. Are they just big for their age, train to much to soon, find other distractions, girls become more devoleped. I just accept a great performance for it is. You have to grasp the oppor...

Re: Indoor Results 2012/2013

Yes successful. Merry - Olympic Bronze medallist and 2nd fastest Brit ever. Jodie Williams - World Junior Champ Asha Philip - 3rd fastest Brit over 60m Both of which still have their careers ahead of them. Bev Kinch - British record holder over both the 60m and long jump. So again, yes successful.

Re: Indoor Results 2012/2013

I never quite get it with the stats for the Teenagers thing which is popular with some fans here and the States; we, no doubt, will have an under 11s, under 9s, under 7s and toddlers rankings, one day in the future, all of which always seems to be irrelevant to the sport, especially bearing in mind...

Re: Indoor Results 2012/2013

Just noticed this result:

60m - 7.86 Denisha Marshall-Brown U15 11.08.00 Herne Hill 1 s1 Carshalton 16 Feb 2013

Notice the DOB. Correct me if i'm wrong but does this mean that she is 12years old? Not a bad time I would say! Wonder what the fastest time is by a 12 year old in this country?!

What a great race and what a great video. The three of them going for it, love our middle distance runners (Dobrisky, England, etc etc) but would love them to show this kind of aggression and commitment in races!
