I hate to disappoint Hinch supporters but if you look at his races as listed on Power of 10 and the selection criteria from the UKA website, I can't see that Phil meets ANY of the listed criteria? 12KXC 36:02 5 Birmingham McCain UK Cross Challenge inc World Trials & Inter Counties 13 Mar 10 ZRDL...

From other forums I gather there was a tender and a new company was successful. Both sites are good and I daresay UKA had a difficult choice to choose between them.

I was just wondering whether there were more votes for the X Factor winner than the Sports Personality of the Year. If, as I suspect, there were, isn't that a sad reflection on society today?

If Collins is a psychologist, he can't be very good. It's results that count - his team got as many 4th places as they got medals!

Well, had they done do, how much worse could it have been?

Can anyone seriously say that Christine, Phillips, Tasha and Germaine got their medals because of the "help" they received from the UKA system?

I hear it is all these new "UKA Coaches" who give the athletes unsuitable sessions against the advice of their existing coaches. There is, however, more to this than meets the eye.

You guys are really getting worked up aren't you. For the last twelve months or so you have conducted a campaign of innuendo against these two innocent coaches. When I say "innocent" I mean precisely that, as they have to be innocent until such time as they are found guilty in a court of l...

Spartacus You are obviously ignoring the facts now. What transgression has AS made? Gentlemen, I know you speak authoritively, but you do the sport a disservice when you get the facts wrong. On this thread your facts are very very wrong. Farrow and Arnott are innocent men and by suggesting otherwis...

I think it is fair comment that KR's performances in the last six months have shown a significant increase in form. Clearly what is happening is good for her running! Dave Collins probably takes the final decision as to who goes on trips, but there is no doubt that AS has a conflict of interest.

What you are saying directly contradicts much of what has been said on forums in posts made by people supporting these two coaches. I don't actually think it does, but even if it did, that doesn't make what I say incorrect. I said that the coach in question was suspended before a complaint was made...

Big Gut, I do agree with the ideas and concepts you put forward, but part of the problem is that the "rules" aren't really clear enough. I just don't think UKA applies these "rules" in the way that you and I might hope. For example, both the coaches I mentioned earlier were suspe...

I think you will find that both myself and Fangio argued that in a WELFARE ISSUE a coach should be suspended whilst investigation took place. This is clearly not the case with Mr Storey. Please explain how this is not a welfare issue? Surely it is covered by 4.2(ii) of the coaches code of conduct? ...

Fangio, I had decided to keep out of this thread as I had no knowledge of the Storey / Reed situation. However I cannot allow your last post to remain uncorrected. Hi Big Gut It is of course obvious that that a suspension needs to be in place during investigations - however the procedures for such investigations need to be laid down as rigourously as those laid down for companies considering dismissing an employee for gross misconduct. Last summer (on a thread...

Then Big Gut and Fangio should be banned from this forum because AW can't possibly allow people subject to these sort of allegations to post on this forum, can they?

Arnott cleared

This week's AW (page eight) carries the news that, following the findings of an independent assessor, Peter Arnott "is now free again to apply for a licence and any application would be considered by UKA's coaching department in the normal way."
