Re: Paris 2011

Thanks Mump,

I found Barcelona easy to buy tickets for so this is frustrating. I thought about Centresport but they've stopped trading now I think. I'll check the site out again for a number
Cheers

Re: CG sat 9 oct (ath day 4)

I know its probably not the best attitude for an athlete, but I love Grace Clements in her post event interview when she said he aim had been not to come last. No wonder she was so happy with her bronze. Great final kick from Jo Thomas in the 800 semis. Lets hope he can kick like that again in the f...

Paris 2011

Hi peeps, I know its many years since I've been on here, but I was cheekily hoping someone could help me. I'm trying to buy tickets for next March's euro indoors in Paris and its been frustrating. The offical site seems to think you should print off and snail mail an application forum with a cheque ...

Minerva, I wouldn't hold out much hope of getting a guesting spot at a BAL or UK Women's League meeting. The timetables for these meetings are very tight - the field particularly so. In many cases, the hammer is just completed in it's time slot. The only times I have seen guests in throws is when a...

I would have James Montgomery, John Bircourt, and Michael white as a three headed head of UKA. Jennifer - as someone who criticises the amount of staff within UKA so much - why on earth would you want a 3 headed monster instead? Not meant as in monster as those involved - but the fact you w...

I had a response from UKA as to why I wasn't invited to the UK challenge final - they didn't have my phone number! It also appears that there were a large number of athletes that they didn't have contact details for. I wonder if this was why they wanted an athletes database to make things like this...

I have supplied all the information required and wrote to UKA about it. But still no response. It still does not get away from the fact that the system is flawed and is only geared to achieve mediocraty. It was launch in only a couple of papers, did not get TV airing and the majority of the coaches...

6 May BAL 1 - Premiership Copthall How many opportunities does a non BAL athlete have of scoring lets say in the womans hammer? Considering all the sniping over the past year on this site I am surprised this topic has not received more coverage. Personally I think if complete change is wanted then a young dynamic business woman is just the thing to shake things up! Then it wouldnt be long before some of the 'unhappy voices' ...

Mike, I appreciate you are trying to garner information in a short time frame. However, does this mean that all responses sent to you prior to the each change are then disregarded or are they still included? If you are going to use this information at the UK Council Meeting they could well tear apar...

Hi there, First of all congratulations on coming back and getting away from the damaging lifestyle, particularly on giving up the cigarettes. I'm afraid I can't really advise you on getting back to previous performance levels. All I can say is that I am the same age as you and I didnt actually get i...

Lysenko takes back the world record

77.41 metres today Sigh........it just gets further and further away from me  Brilliant to see the womens hammer records this year - though it seems to be a purely domestic Russian affair at the moment. Looking forward to seeing how its done properly in Malaga next week. With the depth of tale...

British Pole Vaulter attacked by aliens!!!!! - really

There I was scoffing my dinner in front of Doctor Who (as one does after a hard day's competition) when I notice that the torch bearer for the 2012 Olympic storyline is a GB Pole Vaulter Scott Simpson who valiently almost made it to the stadium but collapsed after after being attacked by an alien sp...

Hi Darkelf,

I feel like my arms been cut off just not being able to watch the Golden League so sympathise with your plight.

Hopefully you'll get plenty of gossip and performance chat here throughout the season to keep you up to date with goings on from across the pond.

If he can do it on that blustery Gateshead track then he should be able to do it on a better faster track. To be fair to Gateshead, this is the first time in a long while that we have been able to see just how good the track itself is. All previous editions of this grand prix have been blighted by ...

Minerva with all these guy pushing each other do you think there is a chance the WR is in danger? Well Cantwell said in interview afterwards that he was not surprised by the distance as he had thrown 22.76 during the week in training, so he is less than 40cm off a WR. Its quite an old record ( Rand...

Picks for European Cup

Looking at today's results the mens long jumpers have not made it easy for the selectors. Both Tomlinson and Morgan jumped 8.00 exactly. Rutherrford has jumped more already early this season but is currently out injured. Who should go to Malaga? Chris looks far from his best, but then again Morgan w...

Fast track dont often put many throws event on at the British Grand Prix (and they didnt today either  ) - but the one they did was sensational. Re: UK Schools Games

This has moved quickly driven by the political Agenda. Was the contract offered on open tender or did UKA lead the stake holders to Fast Track Sales Ltd which is acompany with 51 employees and not part of the UKA head count?
