Re: England CWG Team

If I were a 51.x runner, I'd feel aggrieved but if I'm a high 52/low 53 girl, training hard for the event etc, I have no place on the team and would expect the selectors to play around and find someone of the right calibre. I imagine they've actually had Jodie and others time trialling in training a...

Re: England CWG Team

I think with many of the larger county schools event, in the sprint events (in my locality) many will have the entry standard, and often more than three have the national standard. It then feels like the American system of first three past the post in those events. Also, they often have to leave be...

Re: Gotzis

I hope Kat can get into a few DLs in the long jump, and even the high jump, to mix it with the specialists, but would really like to see her in running races, too and get those times down / get a feel for quicker times

8141 for Ashley, to move to 3rd on the A-T list and 8th in this comp. John Lane finishes with 7846 after a disappointing 1500m

Re: Gotzis

Personally, I'd go to the WJ. Wherever she goes, it will be third hep of the season which - along with the individual events - is a lot for someone of her age. Neither will be 'easy' but I'd rather a title than be an extra. Without the mammoth shot it would be a lot closer, and Morgan needs to repli...

Re: Gotzis

The problem with relying on a fast 800m is that it's the toughest to do solo - they're aren't that many that will run 2.07 at the end of a hep, let alone 2.04, so whilst she might be capable of it, I don't see Kat running that today (though would happily be proved wrong!)

Re: Gotzis

KJT doesn't need a big SP as long as her javelin is over 45 m and she gets a HJ around 188-192 as there's so much more in her 200, LJ , 100 h and 800 to come relative to Moscow 2013 I'm sorry but I disagree. 12m just isn't far enough when mixing with the very best. Kluft, Ennis, Sotherton, Barber, ...

Re: UKA Poaching Again!!

I guess the next issue would be in-fighting between event leads for the best raw talent... if we take someone like Ashley Bryant, who was 2nd at English Schools in Jav whilst training as a multi-eventer, both individual and multis coach would want him (and there are many other examples - esp if you ...

Re: Eugene Diamond League

A piece on AW's site says this about Judd and the A race: Britain’s Jess Judd finished runner up behind France’s Justine Fedronic in the ‘section 1′ USATF HP 800m race, the world junior silver medallist clocking 2:02.28. The 19-year-old later revealed how she had been due to run the ‘A’ 800m race a...

You'll always have the issue of (to take Ashton's example) is Zah an amazing coach or Perri an amazing athlete - if she'd have gone with Malcolm, would she be even better?

Lots of what if's.

The Brits never seem to run well at this meet - don't have too high hopes.

I hope Rimmer is just timing his peak better, but that's a long way to travel to run 1.49 :?

Thanks for the results, Jez - let's hope tonight brings some good performances...

Re: IAAF World Relays

I just caught up as was on holiday. Great run by the girls in the 4x200 I was actually pleased they got a medal and in an event that appears debated whether we send a team. I would think we could have got silver in the womens 4x800 and 4x1500 which I make about 60k prize money does that not appeal ...

Re: New British long jump record ?
