We've had a decent number of throwers qualify for World/European Junior Champs over the years and a few medallists in the not too distant past. Surely that points to a decent talent and coaching.

So spaces are left unfilled while people with A standards are left at home while athletes with B standards have been included since the first wave of selections.

I think athletes and supporters just want to see consistency in selections.
As long as similar scenarios result in the same decision, there can be little controversy. The problem comes when the reason for selecting one is used as the reason for rejecting another.

And whats this with athletes who have the A standard putting in sub standard performances? Tomlinson (all outdoor season), Lemoncello(again) Johnson( disappointed). Just because they have an A standard they seem to know they can get away with it. If we had the same system as the USA, maybe it would...
