As far as I remember she was this country's best 800 and 1,500 Metre runner for a short while in the late 70s. I suppose at the time I was at the age when such people make an impression on you. I will try to find my old AWs to try to remind myself.

It's a completely pointless question like who is the greatest footballer, racing driver,skier,tennis player? Great athletes like great anybodys are a product of their time. If they were the best in their time (and of course some transend that period more than others for perhaps a couple of decades) ...

As for the suggestion that the BBC is free....! Eurosport does athletics pretty well. Brendan Foster was my biggest childhood hero. I don't necessarilly call for him to be sacked from the BBC, but I wish he would think a bit more why BBC coverage is such a turn off. There was a race a few years back...

Most of us who have slept at Teminal 3 (I have several times) have done so because we fell asleep on the last Tube on the Picadilly line. Wouldn't have stopped me doing a cross country race somewhere next day.

Sky does the inter counties really well. It proves cross country can make good TV and that the BBC hasn't a clue.

I don't have a problem with lots of results in AW.

And, whatever you say about failing to feature fell running, the fell results are covered fairly comprehensively in there.
